Lights & bulb help on RX300
So I just picked up a 2001 RX300 on Saturday and I'm lovin' it! I realized that the high and low beams used the same bulbs as my 2000 Monte Carlo. I switched them because I had Silverstar High Performance Halogens in my Monte. Now I just have to get 2 more for the fog lights which is no problem but this is where I need some help....
1) The parking lights take a 168 bulb, Sylvania doesn't make a silverstar 168 so the bulb is just that yellowy/gold color (standard hallogen). I found this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/194-1...27312258QQrdZ1 and http://www.superbrightleds.com/other_bulbs.htm (6 Volt Wedge Base Bulb (194/168) - 2nd from bottom), but I'm not sure how the LED's will effect the look and are 194's really the same as 168's? Any suggestions for a white 168 bulb for the stock Parking light replacement?
2) My other question is I saw the thread about removing the cluster and replacing the light for D (drive) but can the white color which lights up the speedometer, Tach, fuel gauge, and temp gauge be changed to a different color with different bulbs? If so, what kind of bulbs would I need?
TIA

i am also using silverstars for my low beams and i ordered some led lights to complete the look awhile back. when i installed the "white" leds they still appeared to be too blue compared to the silverstars. i was thinking of just changing the parking lights all amber until i can find the right color match to the silverstars.

i've seen on ebay plenty of LED bulbs to replace the stock brake and turn signal lights, however before i buy any of these does anyone know if i will get the fast blinker or if the car will think the tail light is burned out from the different wattage of the LED bulb?

RX300 does not detect resistance difference on all 168/194 bulbs, that includes parking, courtesy, sidemarkers.
LED emitting white light is illegal in many states, the front sidemarker must emit amber light and rear red. You can have clear sidemarker lens and LED but make sure the light color, as how others see you, are legal.
White and blue light emitting sidemarkers are real easy for cops to detect.

i was talking about the actual stop lamps themselves behind the factory red lenses,

I think those look cool, I’m just worried about spending all that money on stupid bulbs and then having an annoying yellow light on the dash every time I drive after pressing the brake pedal, its bad enough I have the check engine light on, (its a 2000 rx 300 awd with 150k and I need the knock sensors like all the other million people)

Let me know if you find a good match to the silverstars or I'll let you know if I find anything
