Thank you for the reply, the subwoofer is under the passenger seat, the two rear seats would crush the computer if the backs were folded down. I also thought that I could put it in the pedastal by the gear shifter, but no room there or the center console/armrest. I might end up trimming the plastic moulding around the tire, in the mean time, I am going to just leave it next to the jack, wrapped in a towel......

Hi. I know your question is about the computer part of the navigation system, but since you're photographing the navigation system of the RX300, could you also point out where the DVD reader of the navigation system lies? I heard it was somewhere in the trunk, but I was unable to find it.

The Nav computer is the DVD reader...... I am guessing it gets mounted on the RH side of the jack, I might need to replace the molded plastic pieces to put it in the original location...... I read that you need to remove the jack to update the disc.

It must go on the RH side of the jack, the parts catalogue shows a different part for nav and non-nav vehicles....... Now where to find one????

I ended up removing the factory brackets from the computer, there was no good way to secure them without the factory bolts welded in, and I did not want to drill any holes..... so I took the brackets off and used a couple pieces of velcro to hold the computer in place. I ordered the plastic molding, 84.00....... now that I think about it, I could have left it out and just stuck the carpeted cover in place.... next time I will save the 84.00 ... LOL!!!!!

When does Lexus usually put out an update dvd/disc? Has anyone purchased one from Ebay? I read a while back that allot of the disks on ebay are copies??

I am having a difficult time locating one of the RX 300 stereos with navigation. My daughter's will not power up. All the fuses are fine. Any that are listed will say they have navigation but do not. We tried to install one with the standard info screen and none of the plugs match, even though they are both made by Pioneer. It is very expensive to do an after market because the AC controls are wired into the unit. Any ideas? Thanks.

Just bought an 03 RX-300 and am interested in upgrading the stereo and possibly adding the Navigation. I have seen a couple of places where it is mention that the computer from an 06 (or newer than 03 anyway) was replaced. By computer, are you referring to the Nav box and not the actual ECU?
