RX 300 Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS, aka C-BEST or CBEST)
Hey, guys. Does anyone know if the 2002 RX 300 lets the owner (rather than the dealer) change the various personalized settings? After I bought my CPO RX, I found that the parking lights don't flash when I lock it with the remote. According to the manual, there are a ton of settings like this that the dealer can change for you but I'd like to change them myself.
I found a few articles about the late-model SC (I think) that describes all kinds of voodoo you have to do with the gear shifter and the various door controls to change the LPS in that model. I'm hoping there's something like that for the RX or, perhaps, that I can do it through the service screen in the navigation unit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Welcome to ClubLexus!
I have the repair manuals (Vol 1 and 2), and there's no mention of how to change C-BEST settings in there. I've been reading this forum for a couple of years, and I don't recall any mention of alternatives other than going to a Lexus dealer. From what I've read, some dealers charge for this and others don't.

You need to plug a Lexus/Toyota scan tool into the computer port on the car, and then you can access the C-BEST menus. A typical OBD-II reader won't do it.
Found out that you can buy the Toyota tool, but it's got to be cost-prohibitive for just this purpose.
