Default Help! Child seat installation

I'm looking to install a child seat on a 1999 RX 300, and would prefer to place the child seat in the center position. The owner's manual identified 2 anchor points only for the side seats.

Has anyone installed a seat in this center position (forward facing seat) and managed to find the appropriate anchor point? Thanks in advance.

I would think that one option would be to install it as you would on an older car without anchor points. Anchor points haven't been around for that long.

We keep using the RX for our weekend drives. And when we move our kids seats (front facing) into the RX, I just pull on the seat belt till I hear the "click" that engages the pretensioners, then I slowly let go and manually tighten the belt till the car seat can't move at all. With this procedure, the car seats moves very little (less than the 1 inch that it can). Do note that we do not install in the center - only at the sides.

The only downside is that after a weekend of driving, the hard plastic base leaves dents on the leather. So we have been using beach towels to pad/protect the leather.

Hope this helps.
