car is throwing p1130 code?
ok so the i have a 2000 rx300 with 50k on it and the other day the cel came on for about an hour then went off... next day came on again. so i was on my way to my shop then the code went off but he did a check and it is throwing a p1130 (code is still on w/o cel on). i did a search to see what it is and this is what i found out
P1130: Manufacturer controlled fuel and air metering." Inside, they got a print out on it and that said: "Lack of HO2S Switch - Adaptive Fuel At Limit."
but went this person ^^^ went to the dealer he said they had switched out the idle control sensor and its all good. i guess i'm just wondering what exactly is the code and what do i need to do to fix it... i'm just trying to figure out exactly what i need to change out to save some $$$ thanks

P1130 shows as A/F sensor circuit range/performance malfunction in my manual:
Basically:
1. Connections between O2 sensor and ECM are faulty
2. 1 of the 2 O2 sensors is faulty.
3. There may be a temporary out of range reading by one of the O2 sensors.

It points to pages SF-72 and SF-73 in my manual, which is the Air Fuel Ratio (A/F Sensor) a.k.a. O2 sensors.

see i searched and here is another person with an rx with p1130 code
My Check Engine light came on today so I hooked up my PC and it read:
--P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control
--P1133 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
--P1135 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
I cleared the Check Engine light and about a few minutes later the following came up:
--P1130 O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
so i'm confused... so far the p1130 is like 2-3 different things... i'm sad

My foul-up and this is a common occurrence when we talk about this on CL in this forum. MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor), this is the one after the air box.
Air Fuel Ratio sensor (from now on we will just call them O2 sensors since the manual just confuses me to death).
I am confusing this code with one that I talked about earlier, which involved cleaning the MAF.
In this case, they are talking about the O2 sensors and or their connections to the ECM.
Let me go back and edit my my postings so we don't mess this up.
I have had a long day today.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 (this appears to be behind the engine block on the rear exhaust manifold, though it really is a poor diagram in the manual)
Bank 2 Sensor 1 (the one you see on the front exhaust manifold)
Bank 1 Sensor 2(one that goes after the cat below the car and show that one must remove the seat in order to check the connection harness).
I was confusing this with my remembrance of this thread involving 1135 that also shows the O2 sensor locations, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=199748

can pick one up at oxygensensors.com for $170.98 .they will also ship it for free.LEXMEX also has pic of all the o2 sensors and their location posted in another thread.trust me, you wont beat that price for the OEM sensor.

I gotta figure it has to be just one sensor going awkward (if it indeed is the sensor as opposed to ECM or connections).

P1130 O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
Hi, LexMex, my 99 RX300 has the same problem P1130 O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1). If someone know where is located this sensor: before cat converter or after.
You have posted 3 photos of oxygen sensor. Which one is of sensor I need to change.
Thank you.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the PITA one behind the engine block. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is right after the main catalytic converter below the car, and the Bank 2 sensor 1 is in the engine bay and readily visible. Looks like you will have to either do some crawling or get it up on a rack.
