Broken power antenna
We purchased a '99 RX300 with 85,000 miles in July and so far we love it. Last night the power antenna stopped working and makes a grinding noise for a few seconds when I turn off or start the engine. I found a replacement for around $30. Has anyone changed their antenna and how difficult is it? Thanks.

The hard part will be to make sure there are no broken cable parts inside the assembly. You'd have to take the whole thing out, take it apart, and then install the new one. Installation is not hard if you know for a fact that there is nothing inside there, but there is no way to know.
The RX is pretty hard to reach all the stuff to get the assembly out too, the panels aren't very friendly in that area of the vehicle.
