Default Idle Air Control Valve

Can someone tell me where the IACV and how to clean it. Please see picture below. This is off a 2001 RX300.
Thank you.

**Okay the blue arrow is the IACV. The red arrow is the sensor that swivels.**

This is a two person deal. Usually I step on the throttle (until the throttle opens enough that you can spray in) and my mechanic sprays in some carb cleaner every 5 seconds over the course of a minute.

After your put back all the hosing. Let the car run for about 15 minutes. That should clear it up.

Okay for those who will want to know. it's the piece right below the throttle body nearest to the firewall. Here' s a picture of it removed. but now how do you install it the correct way because that black piece that goes on the side of it swivels and that adjustes the rpm. how do you know what position is best.?

OK, here’s how I cleaned my 2003 Lexus RX300 Idle Control Valve. Engine would die as it would not idle. Remove air cleaner top and “Y” air intake hose assembly. Loosen and remove two horizontal cross head screws to disconnect black electrical motor body of Idle Control Valve from metal valve body. Careful, screw material is quite soft and it is very easy to destroy screw head. If screw head is destroyed, screw removal will require small vice grips. Once black motor is removed from the Idle Control Valve, you should be able to turn the small round **** (the motor’s armature) by hand. I ran a couple of q-tips down the air port located directly over the Idle Control Valve that came out with a some black carbon substance on the q-tip. With repeated turnings of the small round ****, additional q-tips and some carburetor cleaner, the **** turned freely. Reassembled all and idle was OK.

Realistically, how satisfactorily can you clean the IACV without removing and disassembling it? Mine is acting up and needs cleaning, so I'm all in favor of the simpler method, but I have a hard time believing that spraying carb cleaner past the IACV will be sufficient.

Would this best be done when the engine is cold, or hot?

Any recommendations for the carb cleaner? Does it have to be "O2 sensor safe?"

TIA

Digging up an old post. My LX code read, Idle Air Control Valve is acting up. Truck seems to run fine, but kinda curious if anyone has done one on an LX. For those that didn't look below in sig. 2000 LX 470. Any help would be great.
