Well, I'm in the market right now for either a 99 RX300 FWD or a 98 GS300. One of my few deciding factors is how much miles per gallon I'll be getting. I know the ratings are 19 city/24 hwy, but most of us know those numbers are never accurate. I'll probably be doing about 75% hwy and 25% city.

How many miles per gallon are you guys getting on your 99 RX300 FWD? I guess this question applies to the 99-01 RX300 FWDs, please reply.

Thanks!

My '01 RX FWD is getting 20.0 mpg doing about 60% hwy and 40% city. I've also been runing the a/c pretty much constantly for the last couple of months, living here in the DFW area.

My average right now says 19.2 and that is since about the beginning of 2001. That is with mostly city driving. With mixed city/highway driving I'll average 22mpg. Pure highway I will get a little more. It has been going steadily down from 19.9 since I have driving exclusively in the city (i like to push the gas a bit too -giddyup!) since the beginning of may, so that isn't bad.

I would say the difference in gas mileage b/t the two is not that different so I would base the decision more on your needs and wants. I'm sure after a while of thinking about it you will come to one sure decision.

I have seen my '99 RX decrease MPG over the years (haha its been 2 but its still noticeable).

When I first got it it was really nice. It got around 21-22 MPG on the highway.

Recently, I drove to MI from Boston and I reset my MPG info so I could see how well I was doing. I let it run the whole trip there and back. I ended up averaging about 19.5-20 now.

Probably its cause the cars getting old.

But I usually drive to work in stop and go traffic and I average about 17.7 MPG. I got the 17.7 only after an oil change (it went up from 17.6 haha ).

I feel pretty lousy now that I have the lowest MPG out of everyone that posted.

Well, I hope this info helps the thread starter make some decisions.

'01 RX FWD with 8,000 miles is getting 21.5 in 70% highway and 30% city driving with A/C always on. Regular unleaded 87 octane gas.
