What is that rattling that comes from the front wheel area when I'm driving over bumps?

Sounds like jangling metal when driving over rough patches of road. If it's rough road on the driver side, the driver side front wheel area rattles, if it's rough road on the passenger side, I can hear the rattles coming from the passenger side.

Sway bar end links or strut mounts would be my guess.

+1 on the end links. Grab it and you can feel the slop. They are cheap and easy to replace. Rattling = end links, thumping = strut mounts.

On a side note, my passenger side strut mount is thunking. It was already diagnosed by a Lexus dealership. They wanted to charge $895 to replace the strut mount (including a new strut while they had it all apart if I remember right). Any idea what a non dealership price would be for this?
