1999 RX 300 with 93500 K is it worth it?
I'm looking at a 1999 RX300 at the local dealer and it has 93500 miles on it !
the price is $16,900 is it worth it ? ? ?
and could someone please tell me how many miles a 99 RX 300 can make before having engine problems ?
thank you for your time !

hard to say
Lets face it a Toyota is pretty much bullet proof. HOWEVER, the RX300 engine *could* sludge up if the oil wasn't changed at specified intervals. I only buy cars with full service historys. That seems like a good price and due to this very rare problem Toyota is warrantying the engine for 100,000 miles anyway so you are still safe. I would run some Auto-RX Treatment through the engine or have a dealer do something similar and you should have nothing to worry about.

Check www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com for used car prices.
Toyota/Lexus is offering an 8-year / unlimited-mile warranty on the RX engine affected by the oil gelling issue. So there's no worry for another 3 years at least. There's no time bomb set in the engine that go off at a certain mileage. So maintenance is the key. Make sure the timing belt has been changed by the previous owner. It is due at 90,000 miles.
I'd advise against using any snake oil like Auto-RX, zMax, or whatever that's out there.

I've got 78k miles on my RX. And I just replaced idle speed cotrol($400) and battery soon need to be replaced. Other than that, no engine problem. My RX is good solid car. Good luck.

try autotrader.com or cars.com
I would offfer him 16000 or less. i just got mine for 17k with 63k awd. Best time to buy a car is the end of the month. Dealers try to make room for their new inventory.
I did some research before i bought mine. it seems the rxs' have common sensor problems. o2 sensors mostly. Thats why i bought an extra warranty.
