Display stopped working...sorta...
My 1999 rx300 has a strange electriical problem with the display...As of now , only the time shows -- no computer, no radio, no climate control...However, if i turn the key to ACC, i can turn on the stereo system (selecting fm, cd, etc and adjusting the soound, etc)...But when i then crank it out, the stero buttons do not work and i cannot change any of the selections/sound level that i was able to change when just using the ACC position...Either way, the computer and climate control settings do not show up at all...The climate control seems to be pusing air, though...I checked all the fuses and also disconnected the positive battery terminal for a couple minutes...Nothing solved this...It happened once before for only a single start...But never occurred again...
Not sure if it's a possible short or what...I left the sunroof open and rain came soaking the interior -- mostly the seats, back seat carpet and center console...The front dashboard and pod with display did not get wet at all...Hoever, with the humidity around the car was pretty damp inside...anyhow, today i dried it out b/c the weather finally was nice/warm/dry...But it still does not work...
Any ideas?!?!...Help...Thx...Rob

Lexus Champion
I think that you pretty much answered your own question. Water can do wonders with electronics. Drying out won't help because the circuits are already shorted out.
It's a shame that Lexus doesn't automatically close the moonroof like Mitsubishi SUVs.
