I FEEL my car is much faster when.........
..............i have a full tank of gas?? The car feels more solid and its much faster and responds better!! Do u guys get that feeling too?? Last night was fun driving around and punching the gas all the time. After yet another frequent fill-up. Too bad my car drinks gas like no other car i know!!!

I actually feel the opposite effect. I noticed that when the tank is less than half full, it feels a bit quicker and the transmission shifts more like it's supposed to. When the tank is full, it's not as responsive from a stop and the tranny does it's "gear dance" more often.

Maybe the full vs. near-empty tank of gas difference in feeling comes from a change in weight distribution with a more even distribution of weight when full.
If it is where I think it is (pictured below) then a full thank would increase rearward weight helping the RX's roughtly 60% front 40% rear weight bias (for a FWD RX) giving better handling characteristics. Of course, all this only adds marginally (if any) to any difference in ride and handling.

I have noticed that the car feels much better after not only having a full tank of gas, but also letting the car warm up for about 12 minutes before taking it (to where the temperature gauge would reach its highest).
