HAPPY with Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 (track pics and video)
Have been going to the track constantly and decided to have 2 sets of wheels, one for the street and one for the track.
I went to the track last week and I have to say WOW! ! The grip is crazy. My best lap was a full second faster compared t the Michelin PS2 tires
Some of the cars around me where the EVO X with some Dunloops Star Specs (in the same category as the RE11’s) he kept pulling pretty good on me on the straights, but on the turns we were really close… Also a Subary wrx Sti, with semi slicks, I passed him within 2 laps, but I don’t think hes a fully experienced driver tho.
I am so happy with the tires just wanted to comment on it, and recommend these for anyone who wants a trackday set up and doenst want to buy slicks.
Here are some pics from the track:
HERE IS A VIDEO OF THE TIME TRIAL on another Track layout. I did it in 2:03 some faster cars likemodded S2000 did 1:59 and modded Miata in 1:55 and 1:58. Cars behind me were Modded Golf Gti at 2:05, stock Subaru Sti at 2:06
I feel like i lost some time going through the cones (if you hit one you get a penalty of 5 seconds, so i went slow jeje)

For the track I set them full stiff.... sometimes full stiff on the rear and 3/4 stiff front to get a little oversteer
I also have Front and rear Fsport Sway bar.

Dude Hoosier R6's & you will drop at least a 2 sec or more...Go to John B tires you can get used Hoosiers that have like 80-75% tread on them & they will last on our car like 2 to 3 tracks days depending of what track you go to. I will tell you this from my track experiences. I won't do another track day without them. These tires are so fun once you use them once you will be like wow. Also try NOT to keep your coils all the way stiff you do need a some suspension. I found for me at a slower track like the one you are on if i set them up say little past half way my car actually worked better than all the way stiff. Now at Fontana & entering turn one at 125+ all the way stiff the car still was soft, at Chuckwalla fastest speed was about 110-115 i would keep my coils at 75 stiff. Thats was what worked for me but just try it out for yourself.
But props to you wish I was still killing my car just taking a break had my fun now i want either an tracked out S2000 or my secret sleeper.

NoHo whats up, I remember you teling me this, Hoosisers were on my mind for months and then I decided to go with a tire that i could have on the street once in a while and not have to change it everytime I went to the track. I also want something to last me at more than 3-4 track days. I think I can get alot more than that with the RE11s. Believe me ill get some R6's at some point, probably when I get the ISF next year
About the suspension, the video you see is only a time trial in a short portion of the go kart track, It felt much better with the susp full stiff on the rear. Maybe because my coilovers are 10k 8k instead of most set ups at 12/10 or 12/8. Ill keep trying different things, ive only used the Re11s once... on the full track I feel better with stiffer suspension and low psi on the tires. u knwo how its a feel thing more than actual results, its hard to meassure.
Lemme see your S2000 I love that car.. pics?

Oh ok, yea I always do that, actually on the street I drive on S mode about 90 percent of the time. Going to the track on D and traction and VSC on would be point less too jeje. What tires u used?

From my experience with my Impreza, you will improve your current lap time easily with 18" wheel and fat tires. The car will be more nimble to handle in corners, quicker to brake and accelerate.
19" tyres are too thin and the rims are too heavy for track. 18" tires cost less as well.

Maybe with the stock 18 inch rims Id get better times, But in the past I didnt like how the car felt with the 18's for some reason, it would lean too much with the taller sidewall
