Hi All,

I have a 2008 F with stock wheels and tires (19" and Potenzas) and am in need of a new set of tires since starting autocross last year. My front tires have worn out on the outside shoulders, but have even wear on the rears with tread still to spare. (Yeah, I'm plowing the car alot as I'm going in too hot in my turns - still a novice and learning.)

Any tire recommendations for autocrossing and daily driving? (Also, I've not brought the car to the track...yet.) I do live in the northern CA area so do have rain to consider during the winter months, but NO snow.

Appreciate any suggestions.

B'stones re11 or Yokohama ad08, the re11 are prolly a bit better in the street and equally as good autox'g. one size wider in the front will help fight understeer

also, if you're not already doing this, get an infrared pyrometer and check the temps on you tires and adjust he tire pressure so that the temp is the same on the sides as it is in the middle. It took me about 10 runs to find the ideal pressure for my car when I used to autox. Keep in mind every time you get different tires you'll have to do this again. And adjust your pressure after every run...

Thanks for the suggestions and the tips. I may try them next as I've already got the Hankook Ventus V12's and had my first go at an autocross a week ago...still playing with the tire pressures. It's kinda tricky, as there's about ~10 to 15 min between each run depending on # of cars that day.

Side note...why does Lexus put such skimpy sized stock tires on so much horsepower? (I guess it doesn't make sense to me.) While at the autocross I had a chance to ride and chat with an owner of the new M3, and their stock comes with 245 front and 265 rear...seems more logical.

Lexus knows that most owners won't take their car autox'g or to the track, but alot of BMW owners do, and BMW knows that...

I would agree with the RE 11 recommendation.

I would take a close look at the Nitto NT05 in sizes 245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear when it's time for your next set. These sizes are approved for your factory wheel dimensions and will not rub.

Keep in mind that max performance tires like the ones mentioned above are not recommended for near freezing temperatures.

+1 on the RE11's. They are a great tire for aggressive street driving and equally impressive for autoX
