RC F Sport MPG
#16
Just got back from my first proper country drive - about 350km, mostly freeway driving in ECO mode, but with a bit of fun stuff up and down twisty mountain roads in SPORT+. My average for the trip was 9.4 litres per 100km, which translates to just over 25 MPG. I'm very happy with that, as my figures around town up until now have been around 16 MPG. The car has only done about 500km in total so it might need to settle down a bit.

Yes those yellow bars are set by me just so I can visually see when I'm going to little too fast as the car hides your speed very well with how smooth the ride is after another set it will turn red instead of yellow

This is so true. I'm not used to just a digital speedo and whenever I glance at the tacho "needle" it gives you the impression you are going slow, and the smooth ride and quietness backs this up. I always thought my IS was smooth and quiet but the RC leaves it for dead.

First service was:
25 point check
replace engine oil, filter, gasket
They said tires CANNOT be rotated on this car
It was free...
oh..also got a free massage (no he lol)
As far as my mpg concerns:
I spoke to the Service Consultant and she didn't seem surprised or concerned about the 15 mpg that I've been averaging. She seems to imply that is normal and the sticker mpg is under perfect circumstances (she mentioned California, Ventura highway driving).
After the car was looked at my invoice says: "tech was told by Lexus technical assistance that fuel consumption is accurate" - whatever that means.
She suggests I switch to Premium gas (which I wasn't using) and return if I want my car diagnosed further.
Meanwhile, after my massage, I checked out the sticker which showed 21 mpg combined. My feeling is - ok..so if that's under perfect circumstances, maybe I can get 20..or 19..
ok..even though I'm driving in economy mode..maybe I have a lead foot (I don't)..so 18? 17?
But 15?!!!

15 is way too little.
Im doing 19-20 most of the time. Its fluctates. But I do a two hundred mile highway trip every wednesday so that ups my mpg. If im local i get 19mpg even when I am gunning it. 15 is wayyy to little. If it was 18 id say okay, but 15.... Im using 93 octane
Why cant the tires be rotated?

I was getting 20 on average with dealer fuel, oddly it is now 22 after i filled up with 91 octane. Granted i don't really step on it unless i need to pass, merge, etc. But i did find it interesting. (I'm on eco 24/7)

I'm getting about 22 mpg and that is combined city/highway (40/60) in Sport+. If I leave it in Normal mode, and there is no traffic then I can get an average 33 mpg doing 70, but that is almost impossible to do for any length of time since some idiot will get into an accident and screw up the freeway. The car has 3,560 miles on it now.
