Oh, one other thing... if you like being able to open your sunroof on beautiful days, you can't do that with the S5. It only tilts. That's why I traded my coupe for a cab.

To the OP, if you can accept your RC to be slower than an Accord coupe V6,I say go for it. More power to you and the RC.

Both are sweet cars. My wife has a Q5 and since driving it and comparing it to a BMW and Lexus, I have to say the engines in the Audi's are in a class of their own. I have since been converted to an Audit fan however, nothing comes close to the reliability of a Lexus. Doesn't help your decision but you cant go wrong with either. Personally, with this decision I would wait to drive the 2016 to make sure of your decision. The 10K difference is not an insignificant amount. Also, last consideration is you see a fair amount of A5's on the road and a few S5's. You rarely see the new Lexus around.

What is the price difference between a S5 and an RC-F in North America?

Also did the RC350 F-Sport the OP test drove -- did it come with DRS Rear steering?

I found that DRS rear steering significantly improved the agility of the GS350 F-Sport I drove

A RC350 F-Sport with DRS equipped might prove more agile than an S5 and for less money

Just an update since this thread started. I am trading my '13 GS F Sport for a '15 Audi S5. I miss the looks and the personal feel of a coupe. My S5, fully loaded, stickers at $64k. However, the dealership is willing to do some magic and knock a little $$ off the sticker price. That makes the S5 considerably less expensive than the RC-F.

For me, I would rather have the understated beauty of the S5 than the overt sportiness of the RC-F.

Congrats! I have a 2015 Sepang Blue S5 as well. Same sticker price. I went this route because I wanted the security of Quattro in MN winters and the dealers here are not giving discounts on 80K RS5s.

Congrats man! You won't regret it. You can get a stage 2 Apr or giac flash and pulley for less than 2 grand and you'll have around 400 HP at the wheels.

This whole thread got me thinking. I looked at the RC F Sport, but I traded my GS F Sport for a '15 S5. This beauty is timeless...

Here's my 2014 A5 with the S line competition package. After having the APR stage 1 flash installed. Its just as quick as my old 2008 IS350. I was going to buy a Infrared RC350 F sport but really wanted a stick so I got the A5 instead.

S5 is nice, but no comparison to the RC350 F-Sport in my opinion...

I extensively test drove the S5 and the RC350. The S5 is hands down faster, more nimble and more alive tackling corners. Not a contest in my humble opinion. I actually had them almost side by side as the Lexus in my area had an S5 for sale. I found the exterior of the S5 classier and more elegant. It is also very muscular. The interior is a tie in my opinion but the larger feeling of the S5 is still better in my opinion again. With just a tune and pulley it will take down my IS-F ( roughly $2,500). There are so many areas where the S5 is better than RC 350 I could not believe it myself as I am Lexus fan.
Now, lets talk about reliability. The 3.0 TFSi supercharged engine has been proven to be bullet proof so far but my feeling is that the RC's engine will be more reliable. This audi engine is multi year awarded by WARD's so I don't need to say more.

Here is my 2015 S5 with Black Optics package.
