I don't think so. First, the SC430 is a convertible, so I don't think a lot of current owners will be interested in a coupe with a sunroof that only slides part way (above the car). Second, the SC430 is "old school" Lexus... a quiet, comfortable cruiser with so/so handling. (I can say that. I've owned two.) By all indications, the RC will be a true sports coupe. Different animal.

Agreed the RC is a proper coupe build from ground up with sporting as its core DNA, were the SC430 was a convertible cruiser.

Yeah different driving dynamics. The RC is supposed to lure in younger buyers.

Default I work at a lexus dealership, here's my $0.02

I don't see it happining. Sc430 owners are sc430 owners for a reason. They absolutely love there cars. No doubt the RC is a spectacular car but there are some things to consider.

The RC isn't cheap. It's also a brand new very very hot car so dealerships won't haggle much with prospective buyers. We got are first truck of them a few weeks ago all 9 of them were gone in a few days. We've had two RC-Fs, one sold in less than a day and the other isn't for sale yet. Also the demographics of the RC buyer is diffrent than a Sc430 owner. I had the pleasure of selling the very first RC in central Florida, a black on red 350 F sport, to a super exited younger guy in his mid 30s. All the RC buyers I've seen were younger except one older dude that was about 70 that wanted something diffrent.

The SC is getting old. Not only is the car itself getting older but so are the folks behind the wheel of them. Depreciation has finally really began to set in on the Sc430s so trade in prices are well, trade in prices. Mostly middle aged folks drive the SC430 around here, love there cars, the way they feel, how they drive, and really don't want to let them go. Also, most of the SC drivers I talk to really like the convertible aspect of it. I don't think we will see a major influx of SC430s till the RC convertible comes out, which as we all know, won't be anytime soon.
