They are a world apart. Granted the Honda looks OK, but a Front Wheel Drive on a Sporty Coupe! The Honda is built for economy, not a sports car driving experience. You pay for what you get.

We've heard from Lexus Corp about prices but they added that final numbers could change before launch date.

RC350 starts at 44K.
RC-F starts AT 70K.

I think 70K for 450hp is pretty darn good. BMW charges 90K for the 650i with similar power.

If they were developing the car primarily for North America I would doubt it because only 1% of automobiles currently sold here are convertibles. North America just isn't buying them anymore because the 40+ folks are afraid of skin cancer and the younger folks are always on their devices so the "great outdoors" has no meaning. Just look at how few convertibles are now produced by US and Japanese automakers.

However, since Lexus wants to introduce the RC globally I would think they would produce a convertible version. Europeans still love their convertibles. The Germans are producing most of them. Hell, MB and BMW have at least 3 in their lineups. If they are truly going up against the 4 Series and A5/S5 is seems like a given, and the IS-C won't cut it. I actually hope they make a soft top like Audi that goes up/down while driving and leaves lots of trunk space. The hardtop on our G Convertible feels like you are going through a "Transformers" scene when you put it up or down, takes forever and leaves about 6" of storage.

There have been renderings floating around.

i really enjoy the looks of this car, although i wish it looked more like an SC. there isnt many cars on the road that look like an SC, which is why i have one.

IMO, the SC is still the most beautiful car ever produced by Lexus. I owned 2 of them. If they could reinvent that design and include the latest technology I'd be all over it. I guess the RC is the second coming of the SC, but designed for Millenials. I think the rounded, smooth surface styling is out now and it is all about creases and angles.

most definitely. i think the creases and angles are an attempt tp make cars look different from eachother as the silohettes of any car in the same class is almost identical.

i think the SC300's ability to have a characteristic profile as well as design cues not seen on many other cars like split headlights and the long hood is what make the car so attractive,

Wow! The stance looks perfect. No wheel gaps. I have seen some other pictures where it has a 4 x 4 stance with big wheel gaps (AWD pics). I assume the AWD is suspended much higher than the RWD?

it's probably lowered is my guess . I don't think it was this low when it was presented at the New YorK Auto show and spotted on the streets. could be wrong.

It's a shot from one of the two films for the Lexus short film series this year.

The other film has the NX in it.

I'm sure it will be a clunky hard top convertible that takes most of the trunk space, only goes up and down from a dead stop and takes at least 20 seconds. Already have one of those. No thanks.

I would love to see them do a soft top, like the Audi A5, but I doubt that will happen.
