It's nice to see they added in the ventilated seat option to the RC F. The current IS F is only offered with heated seats.

What about international versions? Do they get the cooled seats?

Another positive of keeping the 8 speed ZF is the lack of expensive DCT tranny fluid changes. Is it official whether it will have adaptive suspension? I think at least one article said it was fixed, but then what would be the purpose of Sport+ then?

All signs are pointing towards a Twin Turbo 4.0L V8 to replace the 6.2L V8 in the C63 AMG

The more I think about it, the harder of a time I have believing that the RC F is going to weigh 3970lbs, or whatever the first reported number was. ISF is 7 years older, has two more doors and weighs 200lbs less...

the supra is 20 years older than the lfa and they both weigh more or less the same.

this is not a ding on the lfa, but over the years there are so many new safety regulations, plus all the new electronics, etc...

and in this case? rcf is based on gs chassis as well, so...

unless you're Lexus

but in all seriousness this new 5.0 is a bridge engine. Keeps everyone interested while those new FI mills come to fruition.

I definitely see what you mean, but IS F and RC F have far more in common than Supra and LFA which are born almost 30 years apart, I6 vs V10, carbon fiber vs. steel, etc.

Sadly, that reveal gave us even less information than the press release - "More than 450hp and 383lb-ft of torque"

Lexus uses Aisin 8-speed which IMO is better than the ZF

Well, my hope is the RC FSport comes with;

- RCF style front end (or at least special like IS FSport over IS250/350)

- LFA instrumentation (like IS FSport)

- FSport only color(s) and options (19" wheels, brakes, suspension, etc)

Just want the RCFsport to be a good bridge between RC and RCF.

so in the press conference, they said atkinson cycle at low speed, otto cycle at high speed. perhaps eco/normal/sport modes will alter when otto cycle kicks in? and i also assume high speed cruise will use atkinson...

its like reverse VTEC, using second set of cam lobes for efficiency versus increased power. Would be a good idea to lock in Atkinson cycle during eco setting

oh yes, sorry if i wasn't clear. i meant to say euro (bmw and mb) don't really know well on how to built fuel efficient engines. lexus has done incredible work here

on that i completely agree with you. fwiw i am not a fan of the rcf weight at all. if there are enough loud voices about the m5 being so heavy now, the same thing has to apply to the rcf. i am not automatically discounting the rcf already saying it won't perform well. it's very possible that the still handles awesome and drives great. but for sure a lighter one will be even better

and yes, honestly i am a bit tired at how lexus always does the "more and this but we are not telling you the exact figure yet" ploy...

not sure why would anyone want high tech V8 to be replaced with turbo V6... If I am picking between the two, i would get V8.

Now between NA V6 and Turbo V6, it is not brainer... or NA V8 vs turbo V8.

But i guess these days everything is about acronyms... so maybe by the time Lexus comes out with turbo V6, germans will be running quad turbo 2cly engines.

:-)
