If true, i'm bummed about it too.
I also have an AWD G37xS coupe, it feels pretty good, RWD until FWD is needed but i don't think the Lexus AWD works that way. Is fixed configuration no? And i hope they don't turn it into an SUV with the ride height. That's what kinda sucks with the G.
If the turbo 4 pulls like the BMW one, then it would sell alot. But during normal driving and idle, i just don't like how the 4 sounds.

TT V6 replaces the 5.0L V8 in those F specific models
TT V8 powers the hopefuly LS-F and the LF-LC production vehicle (SC-F )
I'm being optimistic with Lexus in bringing a competitive turbo 4 that gives ample power and not a slow churning IS250-esque motion

I have been following the rumour mill about this car for a long time. An AWD variant is confirmed, what I am waiting to learn is how many compromises will be part of the AWD variant. Number one is will we get the 8-speed tranny, or be stuck with the old 6-speed?

it will only produce the amount of power it's tuned to put out, so I don't think that's of any concern regarding the motor. plus we know Toyota has one of the best locks on their ECU to disallow any altering on them so Toyota/Lexus can feel safe with a high production output of the TT V6 motors across the line-ups...but I do see your angle on it:

Maybe they will do tt v6 as some kind of in-between model? I am not sure... but they wouldnt be doing V8 next year if they will replace it year after, that V8 is no joke.
Or maybe they make the engine smaller, like 3.0l and then TT it. Although I am not sure thats going to happen since 3.5l was right size for that V6.
Maybe in the end, we will see 2.5l 4cly TTT with 380hp :-)))))).

Why are so many people not liking the rear bumper vents? That's what super cars have. It's a good thing!

It looks classy and much better in real life photos than in CGI
Also from the photo above I see that the side view mirrors do without the awful black plastic like in the 3IS.

well, since they are releasing that 5.0l V8 with supposedly 465hp next year for RC-F, I kind of doubt that tt V6 will be replacing that.

but then it only leads us to believe that the V6 TT they mention is going to be along the lines of a V6 3.0L TT motor (N54 is a 3.0L TT)...which would be an ideal replacement for the 3.5L N/A, 350hp with 320-330tq!
as for the tri-turbo...lol, if it's a 2-stage variable setup, you may be onto something there.
I don't mind it at all, other thant when it comes time to paint that rear bumper...taping it up will be a pain! I'm really wanting to see pix of it on a white RC tho

mediocre power bump is making me want to get a 2014 IS350 now instead of waiting for the 2015 IS. 314 hp can be obtained with simple bolt ons. Still a great power output for a NA 3.5 but was hoping for more. Maybe need to see if there are any other changes. That new touchpad interface seems nice but when I test drove a 2014, I didnt really have any issue with it

You can tell me that it is there to Vent the Brakes, which is fine. But there really is no need for it, and for venting the Brakes, you do not need such big vents.
