With the 2015 RC-F receiving a new or modified 5.0L 2UR-GSE V8 from the exiting IS-F....
... it will be NO surprise that a proposed GS-F would be getting the same power plant.
In my opinion I do not see Lexus producing another or even a different 5.0L V8.
The 2UR-GSE has been proven to be a VERY reliable motor.
Only time will tell what Lexus Japan has decided.
And most of these decisions have already been LOCKED into place.!!

it looks that way to be honest, but that seems like a let down for the new GSF due to its larger size and added weight. Its like BMW dropping the M3 motor into the M5 and calling it a day. It would work but I am sure there would be a little uproar , Like you said only time will tell

i have no issue at all with lexus using the is-f engine / transmission pretty much as is in a gs-f. it's PLENTY fast enough, and with the gs size, the weight balance may work better than the is-f.
it doesn't have to be anything like e63 tire shredding powerful.
the gs, with its very sophisticated suspension and optional rear steering could be dialed in to be something truly spectacular dynamically.
and if they do it right on the cosmetic side, and have some goodie features, it could do quite nicely.

Don't know about the front...I'd have to see it in person.
But note the updated console layout from the IS, the RTC is moved to below the shifter bringing it away from the cupholders, and it seems to be a touchpad type controller instead of a mouse controller. New steering wheel buttons. They're listening.

In the words of Neo: "woah"
I like the interior, it's just like the IS but I like how they fixed the location of the cup holders and changed the controls for the nav screen and mode switch... very nice indeed
