I am with him on that, although is not a regular thing, I have seen quite a few M3's window sticker in the $85k~$95k range. You are correct, if you add up every "regular" packages, options and accessories, it maxed out at $79k.

But BMW can farther customize the car with their individual program with special paint, interior trims...........then there is a list of 14 M performance accessories that the dealer can add onto the car, louder muffler, lip spoiler, steering wheel..........those parts are very expensive, I think if you add up everything, it can be over $100k. Those $90k car just got a few selected items added on. Because not many sane people would pay $100k for a M3.

The LFA is a once in 20 years exotic project, it doesn't count in their regularly scheduled line up.

I always though of the SC as a E-Class coupe (CLK) and 6-Series competitor. I think Lexus should make a GS coupe and slap the SC name on it

With the LF-LC it seems that Lexus wants to go after the S-Class coupe (CL), that new BMW 8-Series, Aston Martin DB9, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Wraith and ect.
The SC430 in the later years got REALLY outdated as they never updated it and the competitor upgraded a huge amount over the years, so it looks really out class at the end. But when it first came out in 2002-2004, it was in the V8 flagship segment, look at this comparison it was in, it was compared with the Cadillac XLR, Jaguar XK8, MB SL500, 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet.

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...mparison-tests

This new SC/LF-LC will be back into that segment, MB SL/CL, BMW 6/8, Audi V8 R8......etc.

Not so sure. Unless they are masking stand alone DRLs with some plexiglas piece to me it looks like a single sphere shaped housing. That same piece is under camo as well on non Ring running car.

Well who knows at this point.

This looks big, and with 2 prototypes sporting GS taillights, it may be slotted above the GS, with a 50k starting price.

Lexus needs an affordable entry level coupe

As earlier stated, the 2UR-GSE V8 engine is to old and old fashioned to meet new emission standards in many countries. Besides that, I have driven both the IS-F, the lateset M5 V8 biturbo and Nissan GTR .The 2UR-GSE engine is like a decade after in almost everything except the noise. Lexus can`t compete with that engine. It will be game over from day one .

U.S. Market.....

2014 IS 350 Fsport + ML/Nav = $49,000.

It seems there will not be a coupe equivalent in the RC segment.

RC 350 (same motor as IS/GS but no FSport option?)
RC 350 F (elite motor thus pushing price tag at $70K or higher) 2013 ISF loaded is $66/67K.

My fear is popping for 2014 IS350Fsport now... spending $50K... and missing out on something special with the RC (base). The motor appears to be the same but the tech/interior may be worth the wait?

RC F is out of my price range just like the IS F so I'm not stressing that. If the RC 350 is going to be modeled after that LF-CC then that alone may be worth the wait.

existing IS... look at the spy pics, you can see that interior is the same as 3IS. There will likely be small changes that cant be seen on small pics though.
