Great detailed video of the RC from Tokyo Auto Show......Not sure if this was posted earlier.

That full F spindle grille looks so much better than the 350 grille. It just fills the front so much better.

Of course, that render is most likely fake. But it looks like it's 95% correct. It will look even better with the triple L-shaped LED headlamps.

Edit: I take that back, it might be better with non-fussy GS style triple LED headlamps and keep the L-shaped ones to the luxury models.

the M3 convertible is already $70k.

im thinking since the RC-F is a fixed hardtop than maybe $65k?

The 'leaked' pic looks more like what I would expect from the RC F Sport

That's exactly "the problem", RC looks so aggressive that there is little they can do to it to make it even more aggressive and not end up looking ridiculous. Damn if they don't do nothing to it and damn if they ruin it.

IS-F is $60k and undercuts M3... RC-F will likely be over $65k.

As long as the RC-F outperforms the M4 ( and it looks like it most probably will), undercutting the M4 by 10-15% should be enough to compete with the Germans.

if it outperforms M4, it will likely be priced similar to M4 to start with and maybe be a bit cheaper fully loaded.

With a lower curb weight, M4 will be a very formidable competitor in terms of performance. Yes, there is a 30hp discrepancy between it and the RC F but we have to wait and see what the final weight and power specs for the RC F will be. I am betting the M4 may be a bit faster, as BMW is also known for underrating their engines and the M4 could very well be putting out power close to the RC F but with a ~400lb advantage.

My personal opinion, and one that I think many buyers shopping in this class will agree with, is that the RC even in standard form looks far more exotic than the M4. Aside from the overwrought bumpers, the car is relatively flat looking...nowhere near as beautifully styled or detailed as the RC. I hope that the RC F does not look over styled because the car they're basing it on is gorgeous. Those details and proportions, with F performance and credentials, will make it a very appealing buy even if M4 is faster.
