Asphalt Up Event
I was wondering if any of you folks here in the forum have received an invite for the RCF Asphalt Up event in the Los Angeles area. I know the tour is going around the nation and really want to go if and most likely they will for the Los Angeles area event.

WTF Is Up with Lexus Special Events Asphalt Up Events ?
Hi All - Went to the asphalt up event @ Sonoma last week end - will post some picts in a day or so - wanted to give the folks in LA some pointers -
1. Somehow check the person in line ahead of you to see if they have a brain or if they are brain dead ! In the instruction class before they let you out on the track to follow the leader in the RCF's they tell everyone to follow the line of the leader and don't pass. I made the huge mistake of getting behind a gal that was either not listening, brain dead of didn't understand english. They put you in very specific lines - this gal was talking to her boyfriend (equally brain dead) moving around in the lines not standing still and looks at me and asks if I am trying to cut in front of her. That should have been my fist clue ! This gal was all over the place (must not have understood follow the leader's line) and when it came time to come in she almost missed the off road to the grid all together. Kind of spoiled it for everyone behind her.
2. Remember "birds of a feather flock together" her boyfriend was on the same brain level as she was - he was in the other session with my girlfriend - the other thing they absolutely do not allow is passing - my girlfriend like me was #2 in line and is a great driver (has been to driving classes and is no slow poke) the clueless boyfriend was #3 in line - on the back side of the track (1/2 of a lap down) Mr. Clueless passes my girlfriend. The Lexus people felt really bad and told my girlfriend so after she came in. Clueless was still clueless and tried to get in the BMW line. (The Lexus People would not allow him back on the track to drive again !)
3. Then at the autocross track - I saw Mr. Clueless run right through the gate at the start line of the autocross like no one was standing there starting people . The starter controls the space between cars on the autocross track so it was dangerous being out there with Mr. Clueless
4. Avoid Mr. & Mrs. Clueless at All Cost !
AND MOST IMPORTANT -
5. Take The Hot Lap Ride In the RCF With The Professional Driver -(IT Was Off The Chart - Best Part of the Asphalt Up Experience) You Won't Believe What This Car Can Do - It is Evil !

I got mine a few days ago as well.
You have to RSVP or seats fill up.
When I registered it said mine was already registers, then I called them to make sure I was registered.
Fortunately they called me back and informed me of the status, I'm still on the list for +1 and yes the event is now closed.
Only 200 people were allowed. Event starts on January 31st.
