I'm not going to divulge further on the LFA...

... But I will say 99% of the LFA's have PAINTED CARBON FIBER.

So there wouldn't be any issues during final QC and none after delivery.

They problems they are working on involves the Exposed Carbon Fiber fit & finish..

Remember these panels have been or are being made weeks / months in advance of the cars assembly..

If they can't get it right.. They are not going to delivery them till they do..

not to mention lfa is only 500, i surely hope there are more rcf than that. so the rcf can have more issues to work out and they want to be even more sure joe we all know the "problems" with exposed cf on lfa huh

I would love to see an all exposed carbon LFA.

Just heard from a very credible source that tvd can now be ordered without the carbon fiber. I will have dealer rep check with lexus corp tommorow.

Atleast $1k I would believe. The Carbon Fiber components are the priciest parts of the Performance Package.

Assuming that the upgrade from a Torsen LSD to a TVD is within the $1k-2k range, getting a non-carbon model with the TVD would be the "best value" performance option for the RC-F (IMHO).

That's right! I can do carbon fiber overlay myself at a fraction of the cost. And still look just as good in pics. ^ -

Default A little longer than reported..

The image at http://www.lexus.com/cm-img/gallery/...-MY15-0098.jpg indicates that the performance package won't be available until "Winter 2015".

For JDM-spec models sold in Japan, the "Carbon Exterior Package" will only be made available starting from January 2015 (as stated in the Lexus Japan website)
