RC F automotive reviews thread

I hate to say it, but I agree with the articles judgement of the center console. It's the only thing about the car I hate. It looks cheap and busy. It should have been designed to flow like the exterior of the car. I hope it's different in person.

Where are the comparos ? I dont get this, the production cars are apparently already out since people here on CL has driven it on track against the competetion the last weeks. But not a single magazine apparently. Strange.

Who would they let customers and maybe future buyers drive unfinished prototypes ? I had a testdrive with an early pre production Lexus IS 300h before I bought mine, but thats not even close to be a prototype. The only two things on that car that didnt make it to production for europe was the exterior color and navigation settings. And as far as I know they updated the engine software for RC-F a month ago. This is for sure 99,9% of the production car.

Guessing comparison tests and full reviews will show up in December issues of all the major publications.

Carlos and Randy have earned my respect over the years. This is a fair review showing the true strengths and weaknesses of both cars. The hot lap was the most telling where the RCF came in only 3/10ths behind the M4. That along with the sound of the V8 and the daily drivability makes it the right car for me.

So there you have it. The RC-F did phenomenally well on the race track. In many corners, Randy was actually braking late with the RC-F. In the straights, they both had very similar trap speeds.
Despite all of the "hoopla" of RC-F being not a "track weapon" like the M4, RC-F was only 3/10ths slower around the race track than the so-called "track weapon" M4. They both crossed the finish line within 1 - 1.5 car length of each other. They were literally neck and neck at the finish line. All while weighing 400 lbs more than the M4.
RC-F is a lot closer to the M4 than IS-F was to the E90/E92 M3. Amazing job Lexus!
