Trackside: Radically styled 2015 Lexus RC F is as fast as it looks

With each lap, my confidence in the RC F's performance and my familiarity with the track grew, and I was able to see a bit of what Lexus means when it says that the coupe's performance reveals more of itself as the driver grows. The RC F felt sharper and sharper with every corner, as if honing its edge on each apex...but only to a point. No, the F never really felt as sharp as the equivalent M car, but the more supple Lexus isn't without its own charms. The RC F is faster and more nimble than its predecessor but doesn't stray far from the formula established by the IS F. It strikes a balance between performance and amenity that's probably best-suited for the street, but also not at all inappropriate for the occasional track day.

BMWBlog's glowing review!
Summing up the Lexus RC F in one statement is difficult but I would have to go with jack-of-all-trades. I was pleasantly surprised with the fun had in Lexus’ newest sport car. Compared to the benchmark of the segment, the BMW M4, it is a close call as an all-round performer.

notice how that review said the traction control is less intrusive than even the M4s

When will we see full coverage by major publications? I'm talking about cover stories with full tests on Motor Trend, Automobile, R&T, etc.? December?

personal review

got a chance to drive it on monday at the Running of the Bulls

RC-F - Huge step up! would love to have one for a DD, sounds a lot meaner then the m4

M4 - Still king of the tracks. the turns, the acceleration, just overall a track car.

maybe the rc-f would feel a little bit better if it shed some weight. but overall Lexus is still working on getting there.

^ Some pretty good reviews you attached there. I haven't placed an order for my RCF just yet but the more positive reviews I read, the sooner I'll get there.

You're only postponing the inevitable.

RC F will prove to be best all-around GT sport - and to me that means most entertaining in the real world. Don't forget trouble free ownership and high resale. I can't wait for mine! What's holding you back?

TBH I know I would get flamed for this, but I was a little disappointed with the ISF. There was so much talk of a tuning option available to the US but that was like chasing unicorns. So with the RCF, I know its already faster but my worry is, if im going to want more power after I/H/E like I did with the ISF, will it even be an available option for the RCF... I know time will tell and who knows... I'm anxious to check out the RCF coming to Guam in a week or so, if I test drive and like it, then I just may end up taking it home...

LOL. Nice footage, but lots of inaccuracies. The carbon fiber and the active spoiler are a tribute to the Lexus LFA. Not the IS-F. He was reading everything through a script.

For the vast majority of buyers, it will provide exactly what they want: a respectable car that's comfortable in the real world, yet offers real performance and thrills on track. It's a ton of fun, and one could spend a good long time learning how to extract maximum performance from it.
