All that silly 400lbs difference needs to be put in place. M4 at 3600lbs is a stripper edition. Load it all the way up to match RC-F equipment including 19' wheels, adaptive suspension, audio system and their premium option packages and I am sure it will not weight 3600lbs anymore. OK no matter what it would end up being lighter, no doubt, but just not 400lbs lighter.

The number floating around from Lexus is 3,958 pounds.
I know that I sound like a BROKEN RECORD, but until the PRODUCTION car is released, we can only go by what Lexus has told us.
2015 Lexus RC F
Horsepower More than 450 hp
Torque More than 383 lb.-ft.
Transmission Eight-speed Sports Direct Shift (SPDS)
Seating Capacity 4
Overall Length 185.2 in.
Width 72.8 in.
Height 54.7 in.
Wheelbase 107.5 in.
Driven Wheels Rear Wheel Drive
Curb Weight Targets less than 3,968 lbs.
Brake Type Four-wheel power assisted disc brakes (Brembo manufactured for Lexus) with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA)
Wheel size
(front and rear) Fr 19” x 9”
Rr 19” x 10”
Tires size Fr 255/35/19
Rr 275/35/19
0 – 60 mph Targets faster than IS F
Top speed Estimated 168 mph (electronically limited)
MPG (City/Hwy/Comb.) Targets better than IS F
I expect Yaguchi to keep his promise here.

curb weight is just a reference, if we say that on the bmw, then we say that on lexus
what real cars are in front of us (or motortrend) for testing is what it is. period.

that's exactly what i am thinking. a base stripped rcf is probably under 4000lb. but with cf package and some others, it's possible that it's over 4000lb. not a big deal imho, i mean even 80lb that's only like 2%. i just don't see why motortrend needs to lie about it

I am not worried about the weight. It has more than 90% of us will ever tap into on road or track.
Whatever Lexus issues as marketing collateral for consumers will be a legally binding spec.

There will not be an OFFICIAL spec until they start production in early October. The spec will be available then.
Until then, let's agree there will be lots of data points floating around--some accurate and some not. The legally binding stuff will be out soon enough for everyone to consume.

i personally don't think either is incorrect. i am pretty sure the curb weight lexus stated is what it is. but adding options and it gets heavier which also makes a lot of sense.
i am not discounting completely on the rcf weight yet. maybe the car can still be a miracle. gtr isn't entirely that light either. but i just try to stay objective. given how much i see people crush on the m5 as soon as they saw the weight (even before the car was tested), i am just seeing the exact same case here. again not saying the outcome as i am still waiting to get the car from lexus, but it is definitely a concern

I just called Lexus corp and had someone connect with the RCF tech staff. The result was what I had expected.

So it seems it gained most of the weight from the gs front end.....weight distribution is 55/45 now?!
No adaptive suspension can be a good thing, makes swapping out for a set of ohlins that much more tempting.

I agree. They wanted to keep the cost well under $100k.
