oh it does a lot more than just that. It has the Atkinson cycle now which reduces its displacement to 4.2 liters instead of cylinder deactivation (doesnt run smooth) to increase mpg during low throttle and cruising. Hopefully they can lock Atkinson cycle in if you go to eco mode. For full power it goes back the Otto cycle. Peak torque is 20 ft lbs higher than before also

What? More than just rev higher than IS-F? You clearly are completely out of touch regarding the new engine.

p.s. hint: it does make more torque than the IS-F, but more importantly it is not a truck engine or a diesel engine that needs tons of peak numbers for torque. For a sports car, it is all about high rpm horsepower, overall gearing and torque curve across the entire rev range that truly makes it fast. Think Porsche GT3 that makes only 317 ft-lbs and is fast as hell.

Well GT3's does weigh 800 lbs less than an IS-F.. not really a good comparison.

True. However, you can look at the RS5. It weighs 4200 lbs and makes 317 ft-lbs. Still pulls 12.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile.
