Default RC-F in Red

Not sure if anyone has better pics but these were taken at HQ by a friend that works there.

I love the red, but "they" will see us streaking from a mile away. I'm going blue, but I still am fooling myself if I actually believe this will put me in the stealth mode.

I love the black IS F, but I do not want to deal with maintaining the black finish again.

Haha yeah not that USB is subtle but it does hide better than an 'arrest me red' lol.

Black RC F's will look downright wicked , but yes black is such a pain as we both know

What is it about black that makes it hard to take care of? What do you need to do different? Car washes every week or something?

For one, obsidian has a thinner clearcoat IIRC.

Black simply shows things very easily. Dirt and dust is no problem but once you start getting pits, chips, scratches, swirls etc.. well it's tough. Beautiful when clean though

Black needs to be waxed often. Every 2 months at least.
You can't leave bird droppings, tree sap or water spots on the car especially with the hot sun beaming. It will leave etchings that required a pro to get rid of.
You have to be very careful what you use to clean it. You could cause swirl marks, webbing and scratches from wiping with the wrong materials.
I would wash it at least 2 times per week. Tough in cold winters. That means trusting others to wash it. 'Black is work but soooo worth it.

Just wrap the whole car in Xpel Ultimate...it's self healing. That's what I'm going to do since I love my black IS but am tired of the maintenance.

Basically, because black is a darker colour, it will show stone chips and swirls easily compared to lighter colours such as silver or white.

The clearcoat itself is no different to the clearcoat on any other Lexus colour, black just shows the swirls more due to being a darker colour which reflects more light.
