Default RC-F revs to just under 7500 rpm

Just under 7500 rpm (redline starts at 7300 rpm). Rev limiter might be exactly at 7500 rpm.

Lexus does love sonorous high revving engines (and very high as is the case in the LFA)

Although, the VQ engines sound thrashy, buzzy and generally grumpy at high revs, I am sure this V8 would be silky smooth and as the chief engineer has said it will get progressively high pitched and high strung as the revs rise (inspiration from the LFA).

Arrow "The more you know..."

The RC F motor will actually shift at 7,200 RPM. The rev limiter will bounce at 7,300 RPM

See the motor actually rev limit here: http://instagram.com/p/jirrNKOFJ7/

For comparison sake, the IS F motor shifts at 6,700 RPM and bounces on the redline limiter of 6,800 RPM

Below is a snap of the RC F Gauge Red RPM needle pausing at 7,200 RPM

Redline clearly starts at 7300 rpm and following typical convention, it will definitely have an extra 100 - 150 rpm extra from where the redline starts so the rev limiter technically should be at the 7400 - 7450 rpm.

If you look at the picture I posted above, the rpm bar is one or two notches aft of where the redline starts.

IS-F already sounds very good as it is. I cannot wait how good the RC-F will sound with the additional sound/exhaust tuning by Yamaha and the additional 600 rpms.

Based on my own calculations, rev limiter is at 7400 - 7450 rpm (7300 rpm confirmed redline + the 100 to 150 rpm standard leeway to cut off) as opposed to 6800 rpm cut-off on the IS-F so 600 - 650 rpm difference for me.

So now your own calculations are FACT for you ??

How about this.. The IS F red line starts at 6,800 RPM.. The RC F red line starts at 7,300.

The difference is 500, doesn't matter how you do your math!!

Seriously, you post a lot of questionable findings.

I inaccurately thought the IS-F redline starts at 6700 rpm.
