Default At this point, are you likely to go the RCF route?

I know it is early in the game, but based on the reveal and trailing information, I thought an informal survey would be interesting.

So, based on the reveal and data, you are:

Certain to purchase
Likely to purchase
Undecided
Unlikely to purchase?

Prior to the surprise unveiling of the Toyota FT-1 (which seems almost certain to go into production based on the highly positive feedback and the recent "Supra" registered trademark by Toyota), I was in the "Certain to Purchase" category for the RC-F as my weekend car. I watched every spy video of the camouflaged RC-F being tested on the Nurburgring track and kept up with all the rumors and updates articles. As of this time, with the current lack of full disclosure on the engine specs and curb weight, I'm either in the "Likely to purchase" or "Undecided" category.

With BMW going the route of significantly reducing the weight with the next iteration of the M3 (and M4), I was hoping that Lexus would be doing the same (especially with the lightweight IS-F CCS-R being an inspiration for the RC-F). Until the official curb weight for the RC-F is unveiled, my focus is now on the potential production model of the FT-1.

It is very likely to be my second car.

I was initially going to buy an IS350 RWD F-Sport this summer, but now I am holding off for the RC-F since it still offers 2 + 2 and the 7400 rpm V8 is the big icing on the cake. However, I will have to wait for a mildly used one to pick it up.

Not the RC F, but possibly the RC if an F-Sport is out.

No need for me since my auto mall has a Lexus store. I'll get all the seat time I'll need from the RC in all it's guises. I'm more of a four door guy anyway so a GS F is more up my alley

In theory, I will say no simply because the lady and I are planning to have a family in the near future. That being said, it is something I'd consider for the sole aspect of having a coupe in my stable. I've always wanted the MKIV Supra, and while the RC F doesn't have that same heritage feel (yet), it is one of the few coupes that intrigue me from the current selection of sport coupes available. But in all honesty, I'd settle for all the components, engine and otherwise, that made this vehicle that much more potent than the IS F.

I am an "almost" certain to buy, but the test drive will be the determining factor. If it is what I hope it will be, it will be my next ride.

I am looking forward to the spec.

This really boils down to two cars for me, the M4 and the RCF. What's kind of funny for me is I see people buying the M4 because it's more subtle visually compared to the RCF. Yeah the M4 may be lighter and will probably out perform the RCF in some ways but Lexus is a solid built car with a lot of excitement in all aspects. This will boil down to looks for a lot of people and Lexus should pay attention. Vanity is a very powerful thing and BMW plays heavily on those heart strings...

I was thinking about it, but I probably will get the FT-1 instead.

Likely to buy, Great looking car. Anyone have a clue on production numbers per month and the future availability of such a car in the Northeast, I mean IS350 F sports are not even too available.
Thanks
