"0-60 in less than 4.6 seconds"
Lexus spokesperson for RC-F in Chicago car show says the RC-F will have 0-60 in less than 4.6 seconds.
She seems credible. The description is still a bit vague but I was hoping for closer to 4 seconds or less...

It better be under 4 seconds to compete with M4.
M4 official specs for 0-60 are 3.9sec with DCT.
BMW usually are conservative - magazine test will prob get 3.5-3.7sec

The F brand has no brand name at this point.
If RC-F is not competitive to the M4 that will set the F brand back even more and at worse prompt Lexus to kill it as they did previously with Ltuned brand.
Lexus is fairly new in the area of Performance models, it needs to be better than the competition in performance and provide a better overall value. Thats how u get noticed and build a brand, like lexus did with original LS.

If you haven't noticed, Lexus doesn't need to do anything but be themselves. People like it, it sells, it works.
The F marque is in its infancy, would you like to travel back to the 80s when it was only the E30?
Both care surely will be awesome. If you don't know the revised IS F laps as fast as a M3. If you think straight line speed is the only reason for purchase or some amazing bragging right in this class, you are missing the point of these cars.

Do you like repeating "the F has no brand name at this point" over and over on a Lexus forum? You don't see us stating BMW has never made anything to remotely compete with the LFA do you?

It is more of a hotrod than a completely engineered car like the M3s were. Many experts would agree.
Do you see that this forum is dead???
Go to Bimmerpost to the M section and compare to here - huge difference. Lexus needs to do something BIG if it wants the F brand to be respected.
Introducing an RCF that will be slower, heavier, and more expensive than M4 is not a good start.
Stop defending Lexus - when they are wrong, its ok to call them out. Btw where is that GSf?
I personally like the RCF but i also want to buy a performance car that has a strong enthusiast community - ie //M, AMG, 911, Mustang, etc.
Lexus can get there but their products need to have class leading performance if not in power than in handling. RCF at this point is tuned more for GT rather than sports coupe imo.

Just to add BMW is not perfect by any means but at this point they can put the //M badge on anything and it will command respect bec of past accomplishments.
From a styling standpoint i think the RC-F is much better executed.
Also the 5.0 V8 will be much more reliable than the M4 powertrain.

Please dont compare ISF to E9x M3.

Yup. The forum argument was so stupid I didn't even want to respond.
In the end the RC-F will define itself. It doesn't have to do anything specific and it will probably out perform and have better value than its competition. Lexus has done that for years.
