I agree whole heartedly. I haven't driven a M5, but I don't think the M5 is designed for the level of performance of a M3/M3…I mean…you just can't…it's too big.
As far as MB/BMW interiors…I think all the german interiors are crap. I love how my IS F, after 5.5 years of owner ship, 118,000 miles on that leather seat, all the perforations on the leather are still in excellent condition. With my previous 2005 Acura TL, after 2.5 years, you couldn't even tell that the leather was perforated. It was cracking and starting to look like crap.
This Lexus interior has been the best that I've owned. I have no qualms with it what so ever.

again in no way i am saying the rcf is heavy thus it's going to be bad. it might handle just fine. but i just think if lexus can make a heavy rcf runs great, then a better thought out, lighter rcf will be even better. after all, lexus has made a lot of strong statements in their goal to go back to basic -- weight. how they did the lfa, how they heavily promote on the 4gs not gaining weight

It is wider, supposedly better suspension, better diff and a more track oriented motor than the IS-F. Its not going to be a super car. Weight is a solid concern but Lexus is kinda new to the sports car game and their getting big thumbs up on the ISF and LFA from most critics world wide. A GTR is 4k and one of the fastest track car in the world, Im not saying the RCF will be a GTR at all... The GTR would need a much nicer interior. But IMO Lexus is making a big marketing splash with the RC-F for a reason. Im excited for some driver reviews and some real world track times!

RCF to me is not a sports car, it’s a ultra-luxury GT car.
If i want a sports car, I’d get a Porsche.
I am interested in the RCF, i do enjoy light cars, yet i am willing to sacrifice some weight for luxury. Plus, if its chassis is tuned right and has adequate power, you will not feel the weight on the street.

The official M3/M4 weight showed up on the US website at 35xx lbs. There are still ppl over on the bimmer forums thinking that must be a typo, it has to be 3300 lbs. I think regarding weight, I'll reserve judgement until the cars are compared on the same scale in the same country.

Knowing how BMW exaggerates the lightness of the car by taking dry weights and a stripped out base model (when 99% of the time car is not configured that way), the M3/M4 will never be under 3600 lbs. It is much bigger than the E90/E92.

It's all very confusing, for example, references to Car and Driver were made to the e90 being only 35xx lbs, so 33xx lbs doesn't sound too far off for a new model focused on weight reduction.

it says 3530 for MT, or 3585 for auto M4 curb weights on BMWs website. Curb weight has full gas and full fluids necessary for operation, doesnt include driver, passengers or cargo. The M3 sedan weights 10lbs more for either model. Funny how the M4 coupe is the exact same length. Both cars weigh pretty much the same as IS350 RWD F Sports which is 3593.

Add another 50-70 lbs since those are base stripped out model weights.
Here BMW says weight is 3580 lbs of the 435i coupe in the specifications
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...fications.aspx
However, the test by C&D showed it weighed 3621 lbs with minimal additional equipment
http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...mw-435i-page-2
Therefore, the M4 will weigh 3600+ lbs in real life tests.
