RC-F price
So I have been reading up on some recent news about the RC-F and I am very intrigued by the car. The one problem I have with it is the price. They are stating it is "a little north of 100k" this seems a bit steep to me. I know the new m4 is priced around 80k fully loaded. What are your thoughts?

Head on over to the RCF forum on this site for the out updated information, but that report of over $100k is false. Though official pricing has yet to be released, it's looking like right around $70k for the base model, and around $75k for the loaded model with carbon and torque vectoring. More expensive than the ISF, yes... but not by a crazy amount.

Yep, as I expected high pricing from Lexus, The IS-F was testing the water as to how much consumers were willing to pay, so now they uped the pricing on the next "F".
Thankfully we have choices, and one them has not been discussed here. It is the prototype Eau Rouge.
Think GTR, with 4 doors and 560 HP and all wheel drive......wait for it.........75K. That is a great deal since the GTR is going for 100K.
Check the vids and sound clips:

What's your point?? The 2 cars aren't even compatible. GTR is a noisy, rough POS. Lexus is a refined, quality drivers car.

Why not go further and say the Z28, or buying some used street legal race car off ebay then?

Apples to oranges. We can also say we can buy a 40k S63 and tune it. Or we could say get a civic and drop some spoon engines that will draw a premium for race wars
Will there be some people to do what you are suggesting? Sure. Will there be 200-300 people a month that want a new Asian luxury V-8 sport coupe with a new warranty, new features and technology. Yes.
Godzilla is in a league of its own really. Its not RC F competition at all, unless you could GT 500 racing where the RC F just won 1,2 and the GTR 3

Lexus Test Driver
That is so ridiculous, I could only laugh. It is hard to see it is as anything other than, negative propaganda against the RC-F. I would not even call this speculation. How could "they" be saying anything when Lexus has not even hinted regarding how it will be priced?
p.s. M4 does not cost $80k fully loaded. That is yet again, completely false. I priced it out and fully loaded and optioned out it comes just under $95k US.

The price is about right for the RC-F. The E550 is close to $70k and the M4 is over $70k. By your rationale you can wait a year and buy a used RC-F for $60k or wait two years and buy it for under $60k. I do think it will hold its value pretty well, better than a GTR and M3/4.
Also, the RC-F is a car you can drive everyday, it doesn't have to be a weekend car. IMO the GTR black would be a pain in the *** to drive everyday.
The only thing the RC-F needs is a manual transmission....
