youre going to get nickel and dimed to death on a typical german car. No one will drive one off the lot at 62k, expect high 70s and maybe even low 80s for any decent options. [n]Watch them still charge you for leather and HID on a 60k car.[/b] A 335 loaded to the same options as my 3IS was $56k.
for RCF Im going to guess its starting at low 70s. ISF was about 67k loaded with Navi/ML

i am not saying rcf will sell or not if it's cheaper or more expensive, but using performance as a reference point on whether people will buy the car or not, not very likely

Lexus did stress that this car is not a competitor with the M4 so that could def mean it will be priced higher. Will be interesting to see what new C63 has for hp and price. Can't wait for first test of M4,C63 and RC-F although if it's Motortrend magazine then M4 has already won

Lexus did stress that this car is not a competitor with the M4 so that could def mean it will be priced higher. Will be interesting to see what new C63 has for hp and price. Can't wait for first test of M4,C63 and RC-F although if it's Motortrend magazine then M4 has already won
Let's say they price this around 70-75k as most of you have guessed, then what is its competition, price-wise? RS5?

RS5 could def be a car Lexus could be targeting the RC-F against. RS5 has 450hp V8 and base price is around $70k pretty much same figures as what we all think RC-F will be at. Loaded Audi is over $80k. Lexus brass knows the M4 is gonna beat the RC-F in a 0-60 and on the track so of course they will say they are not competing against it. RC-F will sell for same reason we all bought IS-F, performance close enough to Germans without all the reliability issues. If we all wanted fastest $60k sedan we would have all bought C63

Now that we are talking about people focusing/buying, i wonder how much of the point will be 40-50hp extra in the Lexus.

71,775 for non-carbon full option. IMO Having said that, I'm not getting one. 460 hp is less than my IS-F right now and it's a lot heavier. Sure, it looks nicer and is newer and faster on the track (maybe), but I'd rather keep my IS-F for now. I'd rather get the new Supra. IMO, it looks even better!

The pursuit of F
Lexus has been typicially keeping their pricing at or slightly below the competition with more standard features. They have also been very close to their previous pricing and I'll bet they will use the ISF as their baseline. To put things into perspective as we know it today:
US:
ISF (2014): $63,600
M4 (2015): $64,200
RS5 (2014): $69,600
RCF (2015): $65,900 - So this is my educated guess base price, while fully loaded to be $75K including TVD, carbon fiber trim/roof, etc.
Canada:
ISF (2014): $73,600 (comes fully loaded, no options)
M3 (2014): $71,700
RS5 (2014): $77,700
RCF (2015): $75,900 - So this is my educated guess. Like the ISF, it will likely come fully loaded as one model due to the small Canadian market, but we may see a "Track" package with the the carbon fiber trim/roof, TVD etc as an option pushing it around $79K.

I just dont get why Lexus would price the RC-F higher than M4????
For all the ppl saying M4 base is not loaded are not correct - pls look at bimmer forums.
It will come standard with almost everything - heated seats, Nav, carbon interior trim, carbon roof, HIDs etc
You will pay extra for DCT, Metallic paint, carbon brakes, Full Leather (dash) and LED headligjts - most of these ppl dont want anyway.

Yea, I agree that if Lexus positions the RCF like the RS5, then it's game over. Audi can get away with overpricing their cars (Tho not for long) because of the "intangibles" of their brand. I do not believe Lexus is there yet. So the RCF has to be competitively priced with the M4 to be viable. Otherwise, the RCF better outperform M4/RS5/CTS-V by a decent margin, which unfortunately doesn't look likely based on the suspected power/weight ratio.
If you look at the press right now, the media has already positioned the RCF against the M4, so Lexus cannot get away from that. 62k or bust! ha ha
