2015 Lexus RC F "Revealed" on Live Stream @ 2014 NAIAS
#31
For reference:
RC F: 3,970lbs, 460hp = 8.63lbs/hp
RC F: 3,970lbs, 480hp = 8.27lbs/hp
M4: 3,300lbs, 420hp = 7.85lbs/hp
RS5: 4,000lbs, 450hp = 8.88lbs/hp
IS F: 3,780, 416hp = 9.03lbs/hp
Considering that RS5 is AWD, RC F is a pig. Lexus was on a roll for a while with cutting weight...guess that team didn't work on RC F!

I expect a modest gain in zero to 60. I appears the top end is a tad slower.

If you want speed, go buy a GTR, even if this RCF put out 500 hp, it is still no where remotely close to how fast the GTR is. Lack of 4WD alone ended the comparison.
The ONLY car under $200k that can hang with a GTR is a 911 Turbo S, period.

No Doubt.. But I already knew that....
You were the one who stated probably on an adjustable coilover.. (for the photo'd prototype)
The bottom of the rear spring you saw & circled, is visible in this photo..
Will the car sit higher for production??? Maybe.. Maybe not...

- The foundation for the vehicle’s mechanical grip is the high rigidity body which has large cross-section rocker panels and a highly rigid front lower brace, as well as using specialized Lexus manufacturing techniques, including body adhesives, laser-screw welding and multi-spot welding. Grip is further enhanced through use of a wider tire and wheel assembly. The RC F has coil-spring independent suspension front and rear, with monotube gas dampers and ball-jointed stabilizer bars.

Dude more than 450 horsepower and more than 383 pound feet of torque means that is the actual figure, 460 hp / 390 lb-ft at best.

Joe-Z, time for you to get to work on some RC-F mods.

so with a V8 you expected it to be lighter than an IS that weighs 3750+ already? Its wider than an IS by almost 2" and shorter by 3" (same length as the 2IS). ISF gained 200 lbs over the IS350 because it got a V8.
M4 wasnt even the benchmark for the the RCF. This is a GT car like an Aston or a Jag. M4 is not a GT car.
The thing is, we (current IS-F owners) have been hoping this RC-F would, stock-for-stock, match or beat the new M3/M4. We knew the power numbers would increase and put us in the race, but the considerable increase in weight is VERY disappointing. With the new M3's estimated 0-60 at 3.9s, I'm not sure this RC-F will even touch it.

If you have followed the previous BMW weights, M4 will not weigh 3300 lbs. Not even close.
It will be between 3500 - 3600 lbs at the very least. The E90/E92 DIN curb weight was 3400 lbs, but in reality in all tests, it weighed between 3650 - 3750 lbs in all tests.
