Both cars are different cars, Lexus lost me when they offered only a coupe. For many of us the sedan is the key point and they really need an IS-F version!
Style is always subjective but the new M3 sedan looks a lot like the old IS-F shape. I posted this a while back but I think in this fashion BMW actually flatters the Lexus. Interior I have to give the nod to BMW's M3 seats, the Lexus seats looks too plain. And that plastic center dash is more fitting for a Corolla than a $70k Lexus.

That photo makes the M4 look like a 3 series with bad plastic surgery that is now melting. All those lnlets and intakes at the front look tacked-on like some botched aftermarket job and not well integrated into the bodywork at all.
In fact, I prefer the appearance of a stock 435i M-Sport to the M4. Looks less like a sloppy after-market project.
Whereas the RC-F's bodypanels and aero-parts look flush and well-integrated.
From external design alone, the RC-F looks like a far more expensive and special car than the M4.

M4 looks really ugly. A lot of disjointed design language aimed at aggression super imposed on a bland standard design language.
The RC-F looks a lot more proportionate and flows a lot nicer than the M4.

Some of you guys are really funny and so biased LOL!
There is no way you can say the M3 looks plain unless you are high, that car is one of the most aggressive lines for a sedan in existence right now. IMO only the Tesla has better looking lines.
I love both brands but there is a reason why BMW sells more M-cars than Lexus. The Lexus has a large hill to climb before it will gain stardom and simply building one IS-F is far from it. They still have a lot to prove in my book if they want to stay in this game.
P.S. Before all the hate shows up, we own 3 Lexus in our garage right now so nothing against Lexus but they need to up their game or get out.

It's you who is biased and can't take some healthy criticism of BMW's products.
It works both ways : you have your opinion and we have ours. Just because we don't agree with you on BMW doesn't mean we're biased. It just means we both have different subjective views of the M4 and RCF's looks.
Let me tell you a little secret : BMW's M sales right now are more fueled by BMW living off past glory rather than any actual tangible driving advantages that M cars have over their competition : the current F10 M5 is an overweight pig that both the E63AMG and RS7 can whip on the track, the outgoing M3 is matched on the track by the current IS-F. People buy M cars more for the hype rather on actual intrinsic superiority. Maybe once, M cars warranted and lived up to their hype but now? The hype outruns the reality. Basing your arguments on sales to prove which is the better car is like me saying that McDonalds makes a better burger than a gourmet chef just because more Big Macs are sold.
And you talk about Lexus upping their game? Friend, this RC-F is Lexus BEATING BMW at its own game lol.

just look at post 108, still looks like a 3 series just like how an ISF looks like an IS. Both boring and plain looking and do not stand out from the regular models. Only enthusiasts see the differences. What does an RC look like? Not like an IS/GS with two doors chopped removed. What does a 4 look like, a 3 series with 2 doors removed. Thats the big thing the RC has going for it, it has a completely unique look you couldnt even tell it came from a GS/IS. M235 has a better front than the M3/M4 IMO.
When getting a car of this price range and caliber, you want one that stands out - a lot. RCF does this job a lot more.

Those M4 pictures clearly show lots of cheap flimsy plastic galore on the exterior (especially on those wing thingy sticking out at the front). The cheap plastic inserts inside the side gills is completely terrible.
