Umm I don't get it - yes but WITHOUT the CCB Brakes both the M3 and M4 are nowhere close to 90k!!! That was my point.

- That one option is over 8k.
- RCF has no such option even available.
- Lets compare Apples to Apples.

I like both as well but prefer the RCF but your comment of 90k price was misconstrued by the CCB cost.

No it wasn't misconstrued. I said LOADED and if it's an option I added it. Thus it's accurate. You want me to leave out an option and say it's loaded?

Man, all of you boys need to just play nice!

He already said he likes both cars - any Lexus owner can't deny the M3's an amazing machine too. Just because you may/may not own one is besides the point.

I loved my IS-F, M3, but at the same time respect the Audi. Life is great when you can afford to have these choices.

Just because I am an Audi owner, does not make me look down on Ferrari or Lambo. All are equal cars which each have it's own merits.

I still think Lexus needs a 4-door sedan since the RC-F is a "glass half empty" issue for me.

funny how in order to get backup camera and keyless access for the M they lumped those into a $4000 package, dual clutch $2900, LED headlights $1900, Extended Leather interior $3500, 19" wheels $1200. Most of those are standard on the RC (8spd is just as fast as the DCT). Typical german car nickel and diming.

Curious? Is this a true statement (Lexus 8spd is just as fast as the BMW DCT) ?

ISF transmission has .1 sec shifts comparable to DCTs. The 2015 C7 Vette is going to get a 8spd thats faster than Porsches PDK transmission. These are still torque converter based but just a lot faster than the typical slushbox. When there are transmissions like this around why would I need a DC? Especially for a street and occasional tracked car. All the new 350s basically get a ISF transmission.

Shifts in 0.1 Second and Downshift Throttle Blipping
New hydraulic-control technology allows the IS F 8-Speed Sport Direct Shift transmission to perform on par with manual transmissions without sacrificing the smoothness of a torque-converter automatic. In M mode, upshifts are executed in just one-tenth of a second, six times faster than manual shifts in the V6-powered IS models.
No idea if they have tweaked the RCF transmission from the original 08 ISF tranny design

Lexus and Toyota have weird packaging options (e.g. on a new Prius V, if you want the 7" navigation unit, you have to get radar cruise control and pre Collison) which is to give them more profit. I see nothing wrong with what BMW has done. Most options in the end will net you pennies on the dollar.

Also as for the shift speeds vs. DCT, what most forget is that while shifts are indeed fast for the 8 speed sports, it's the down shifts where you see the big difference. I owned one of the first IS-F and I can tell you that there is noticeable lag versus a DCT from the GT-R, which isn't the best of the DCT out there currently.

Does the lack of a "dual clutch" gearbox bother anyone? Should I be bothered?
Really love this car, I want to see it in white.

its going to be the same ISF transmission. They tested the new RCF engine and transmission on the CCS-R ISF car and it held up during races and pikes peak climb.

DCT is great for occasional track use and guys who love to drive aggressively on the street.

8-speed is better for DD

(Owned both in various cars and I truly miss the ISF smoothness for daily street driving)

Otherwise 6MT all the way
