It is but I'm not sure why. I've caught a couple of other wrapped unreleased cars over the years which also had the Michigan plates on them.

Can anyone else comment on why these pre-production cars have Michigan plates on them?

Toyota has a few tech. centers in Michigan. See a lot of masked cars around my area , Ford has a big test track not far from me, And Roush Ind. is in Mich.

Companies have certain Distributor plates for cars like these that won't be sold. They are prototypes that are allowed to be driven around with special plates. Not sure why it has Michigan but maybe there were no others available since there are not many of these plates to go around. Also a lot of the magazines are located in Michigan and they test these prototypes so you can piece it all together.

This prototype has Michigan plates because Toyota Technical Center headquarters are based in Michigan.

The car looks fabulous in the renderings, but I like the rear rendering better than the front...I will likely see more of that end on the highways.

I hope they don't price this over 60k-62k. I will retire my SC when this car comes out. Almost bought a corvette c7 heh

That pricing sounds about reasonable for this car. It should be on par with a CTS-V Coupe and M3/M4 Coupe.

And at this point I fully expect Lexus to introduce a strong and fast dual-clutch manual as the transmission on the RC-F. Since they're so vehemently against three-pedal manuals to the point of not even trying in the last few years they need to do away with any iteration of a torque-convertor automatic in their F vehicles from now on.

Looks good though.

RC F is tentatively priced around $120 k, but the 3 non-F versions will be closer to your hopes. Sorry.

According to those posters who work for Lexus dealerships, the price is more like $70-80K USD.

The 120K price was a misunderstanding of an Australian article since Australia has additional car taxes. A 2012 IS-F costs 120K USD in Australia and the RC-F is supposed to be around the same price IN Australia.

Will DEFINITELY not be that price in North America.

No way a RC-F will cost 120k in USA. If it is 120k it better come with full carbon and a long string of unique features. I think it will be closer to competitive m3 pricing.

I think the LF-LC production model will be closer to starting at 120k+

Wow! Lexus is truly stepping up their game. Wondering when they will release this prototype?
