Default Run Flat Tires

hi all, need your input on these tires. I never had run Flats tires before and was thinking of getting new set of wheels, but tire place i've been going to told me that run flat tires are no good and that I don't need to pay extra bucks for em on the new set of wheels. Also It seems that ride quality on run flats seems more rough compared to regular, or maybe thats just me lol. Anyways, what kinda worries me of course is that the RCF doesn't come with spare, and going on road trips I'm sure there are areas where there's totally no signal for cell and even the s.o.s. So should i opt for another set of run flats on the new wheels?

any advise if appreciated, tnx

The RCF can be ordered with a spare. I have one. It creates a nice hump in the trunk. You can probably order the spare and new trunk cover from the dealership. To be honest, I removed the spare from my trunk, because it weights 50lbs. I'm always in the metropolitan area of San Diego, so roadside assistance won't be a problem. I figure if I can make it home, I'll put the spare on. Can't blame you for risking not having a spare on long trips.

Run flats are only made just enough for you to slow down safely and crawl to a safe place.. in the end.. a flat is a flat unfortunately... I've also seen run flats damage wheels before because the extra sidewall protection from the tires transferred the force of a ninja pothole hit to the wheels and so you're down a $400+ wheel over a $300+ run flat tire.

I ordered a 255/35/19 tire/rim online. That's my spare in case I get a flat.

cool, so i can probably lean towards regular then (vs. run flats) and just maybe add the spare when i do go on trips.

btw, can 20x11s fit the rear for rcf? its still stock right now, but maybe in few months i might look into lowering the suspension.

20x11 will fit in the rear with 305/30/20 will fit but definitely aggressive.

This guy did it on a GSF. The wheel specs, which you have not mentioned are in post #26 on page two of the thread. Can't really make a determination of fitment without the specs.

gs400998,
Have you tried to put the wheel on your RCF?
Any clearance issues with the wheel and brake calipers or anything else?
What is the offset on the spare?
Where did you order the wheel and tire from?
i have one of the early released 2015 models and have casually been looking for a spare for the same reasons others have mentioned.
Thank you.
