Default Replacing with wider tires on stock rims.

Recently looked at my front tires and the inside and outside edges looks very worn compare to the center portion. Maybe a couple of thousand miles left. The rear are fine. Could it be low air pressure? I am running 37 PSI cold (early morning ambient temperature is about 72F),

Looking to replace with the new Michelin PS4S tires on stock rim. I am thinking of using 275/30R19 in the front and 295/30R19 in the rear. I would need to order online soon from tirerack.com as no one on Guam carries Michelin PS4S at the sizes I am looking for.

So I would appreciate any comments as to go with the size I stated. Just curious to know how many people have done this size increase on stock rims.

Super unrelated, but awesome to hear that Guam actually has an RC-F on island.

Chu - I was just about to post a thread regarding the exact same scenario! I am intending to go wider as well with the same tires and same size. I did have a question in regards to the aspect ratios. I'm torn if I want to go with 30s or 35s for both fronts and rears. If I do 35s it would be closer to the fenders and makes it look better as i'm stock height and there is a big enough gap now. Any ideas or inputs on why I would go for 30 over 35 or vice versa?

275/30/19 will fit fine on a 9" wheel, but will have .5" smaller OD than stock (25.5" vs 26"). Many folks with ISFs are running that size on the ISFs 9" rear wheel. 295/30/19 will also work well on a 10" wheel, but will have .6" smaller OD (26" vs 26.6"). So the stagger will remain the same. Your speedometer will be off a bit, and you will have a larger fender gap than stock.

I am running 295/30/19 Bridgestone S-04s on RCF wheels on the rear of my ISF.

Bigger gap, what if we went with 275/35/19 and 295/35/19? Smaller gaps but what are the downfalls?

^^^^295/35/19 will have a larger OD @ 27.1". So .5 more on the OD than stock.

Understood and that will affect the speedometer, but does it affect anything else? I might go with 35s to have a larger overall diameter just so the wheel gap doesn't look that bad.
Any other flaws with going with 35 aspect ratio?

I am running 265/35 and 285/35. Which means I am .3" larger diameter than stock. My speedo is nearly correct now (When it says 80 I'm really travelling about 79.6 instead of about 78, GPS verified). I would imagine that with .5" diameter bigger it would read a little bit over.

The only differences I noticed were a slightly softer feel in corners due to the taller sidewall, and I took about a 1 MPG hit while travelling at 80. However, since I replaced my rims with lighter rims, that MPG hit has been reversed into a MPG gain over the stock setup (not by much).

I can also hit 174 MPH now before the limiter stops me. It was ~171.5 MPH before. GPS verified.

I'm not recommending going that tall, nor am I saying not to do it. I'm only sharing my experience.

Just FYI - I went 295/30 275/30 on the OEM 19" rims which retains essentially the same stagger front to rear. This is a pretty small difference from the stock tires size in diameter, you can't see any difference in gap, etc. I'm happy with this setup, gives the wider look and no issues.

Do you happen to have any photos of front and rear wheels?

There are currently more than a dozen RCFs. I was the second RCF owner on island two years ago.

That's ridiculous for such a small island haha
I haven't been back home in a little over a year but didn't see too many on the road then.
I'm flying home in April though so I'll keep a lookout.

I ended up ordering Michelin Pilot Sports 4S (replacing Pilot SuperSports). I went with 275/30/19 in the front and 295/30/19 in the rears. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks with the wider tires as well as giving these PS4S a chance. I'll give my inputs after I get them installed within the next couple of weeks.

I'm considering swapping my tires soon and will be going wider as well. What is the main difference between the Michelin PSS and Michelin PS4S?

Default Michelin Pilot Sport 4S arrived

Just received my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S from TireRack. Went with 295/30R19 for rear and 275/30R19 for front. The 295 looks massive and hopes it fits properly in the 10" wide stock wheels. Will get it install in a few days. TireRack rep made a comment that I went outside the recommended size for my vehicle before I placed the order. Hope I am not going to regret my purchase. Crossing my fingers and toes...
