Brake Dust - Testing Armor All Repellent
Probably like many of you, we love our RC F and the power of OEM Brembo brakes but keeping the wheels clean is a chore. Wheels start to show dust just after a few times you hit the brakes.
Did some research and Armor All Quicksilver Brake Dust Repellent caught my attention and will give it a shot. I just applied it on clean/dry wheels. Need to wait 1 hr+ to dry before driving.
I will report on its effectiveness.

I know for a fact I have avoided accidents due to the incredible brakes I have had on my DDs over the years. Superhigh quality brakes and traction are two of the areas I always strive to improve, not compromise.

Why compromise braking on a 467 ho car because of a little brake dust? I am not a good gauge here as I rarely wash my daily drivers and I have the dark base wheels, but that's kind of like putting crap tires on a sports car because you don't want to spend the $$$ to replace the high performance tires.

Update 1
Folks, let's keep the opinions on the the low-dust replacement pads in this other thread here, and stay on topic in this one.
On that note here's an update. Drove about 30 km (20 miles) in the city today and no visible brake dust! (Pic below).
By now I would have had a thin layer of beige-gray dust in between the spokes. This is very promising so far.

Lol, at my age and seniority status, I can just run late and I don't give a damn! . . . except for court of course. It scares me to think that one day I might be ready to slow down.

Heck I applaud ANY new post ....... weeks go by and there is rarely a new thread....so to see an actual post with a testimonial on a new product, I say well done.

The new mx72 pads Im on has really cut down on the brake dust overall. Yet, I use Chemical Guys V07 ( sealant ) on the wheels after a spray detail mixture of Optimum No Rinse Wash. I clean the wheels with a terry rang and ONR, then use the chemical guys as a wipe down. It works well. The V07 is like a spray detail in itself for car paint, but its safe on our wheels since the wheels have a clear coat on them. The product I really want to try is SONAX Polymer Net Shield. At 30 bucks, its a bit much for wheels. I'll give it a go when I do my fall detail and keep everyone posted. Following this to see if I need to try a new product

Besides the face of the wheel I usually spray the barrels and calipers and it keeps them dust free too. In my experience I find that putting on light coats, almost feathering it on (if that makes sense) works better than spraying it on heavy. After putting it on I let it dry approx an hour before driving to get the best results, and once it's dry don't touch it or you will remove the coating.
