Stock Stang vs Full bolt on RC F.... LOL!

The Stang was just trying to save face. Besides, without the ability to tune how much power can we really get from bolt-ons? Maybe 20 whp? (guess)

What's 20 whp added to what we already have? About .2 in the 1/4 mile if lucky, probably more like .1...

Looks like the Mustang driver let off.

Pretty evenly matched cars.

Not in my experience. Pretty similar result every time I've met one of the new GTs.

i didn't see that the RCF was modded. Do you have info on this car? Exhausts alone are yielding about 20rwhp. Lexus V8 is no different than any other in response to mods. We just can't tune yet

Me too. I think they are both stock. Hopefully the RC-F owner is a member here so he can confirm.

Cannot really focus on some peak claimed by an aftermarket exhaust creating any more acceleration. An exhaust could improve peak hp, but result in less acceleration if torque curve was negatively impacted. I think the key is increasing area under the torque curve not a spike in hp if you are focused on 0-60, 0-100 and etc.

where in my post did u see a correlation between mods and acceleration? My response was just to clarify that we can get 20whp from exhaust. I did not say it will result in improved acceleration,. too many factors involved in running a stock car at the strip, then adding mode and returning to the strip under the same conditions; i.e. Weather, track prep, etc. normally, most guys settle for improved Trap speed

I was just making a guess. I've never done bolt-ons without getting a tune. So I wasn't sure just how viable they are with no tune to optimize them. Simply changing an exhaust can negatively impact performance if it doesn't create the optimal back pressure necessary for the current timing, as an example.

Seeing that dynograph above is proof enough for me that we can net some real gains with the right bolt-ons and no tune.

However, I still do not believe the Stang is stock and the RC F has full bolt-ons. Stock vs. Stock would be pretty close match as it is.

RCF definitely has aftermarket exhaust, look closely, those are not stock tips
