Default 2015 Lexus RCF VS 2013 Cadillac Escalade LSX Supercharged Drag Strip Video

Sunday was a beautiful day! I headed to the drag strip and ran 12.5530 @ 113.87 MPH! Personal best! That cadillac was a beast, I think it's pushing at least 750 HP.

This time it's not filmed in Mexico! Enjoy!

Nice!

i see all your mods to achieve that time, but shouldn't a stock Lexus achieve that time? Last time I went out with my stock, the best was 12.8 :/

I don't have an RC-f yet but I'm shopping - quick question, why does it seem like these cars are hitting the rev limiter in the low gears prior to shifting? Are you guys running it in manual mode and intentionally running it into the limiter? Or does the auto fail to shift prior to the limiter?

Thanks,

Thanks,
The auto shifts before 7K and is slower vs shifting it manually during the 1/4 runs. The RCF's peak power is at 7100 RPM and redline is at 7300 RPM. I find that shifting close to or at redline gives me better times vs shifting it early.

PPE Headers, LEMS Intake w/ AFE Filter, and GTHaus exhaust system. Still waiting for the ECU to be cracked!

On another note, I have a track night on Thursday and may be going back to the strip on Friday night to see if I can get a better time since the cooler air is rolling in!

This is why my car is still stock. Not going to mod something and be the same speed as stock.

Ryanmcd - Aside from 2 videos taken last year of a silver RC F running 12.59 and 12.69 in Bahrain(which might be the best prepped track in the world), I have not seen a stock RC F go faster than 12.8. I'm guessing those runs in Bahrain were done with a very aggressive brake torque(~3,000 rpm), which I doubt many are willing to try. I would also say many RC F owners have gone to the track and probably haven't broken 13.0, which is why barely any timeslips have made it into this forum.

RCF500 - Good job getting into the mid 12s and thanks for sharing all the great vids. The car is sounding great and looking great too! I just had some lightweight wheels and wider rubber put on the car, lets see if that translates into better times. 12.55 is the time to beat!

I wonder if you could shave a couple tenths by not riding the rev limiter the way you did to second and to third gears. Whereas shifting to 4th was spot on and you were actually starting to gain on the Caddy.

Nice video btw.

Thanks! No problem, the DA up here is pretty high, hopefully Friday night will be a lot better than Sunday's 1882 FT!

Wow with that DA at the strip, you should've ran better than a 12.8 easily. What RPM did you launch at?

Thanks! I probably could've, I tried to shift after every beep, but the problem is that from 1st-3rd gear the engine RPM ramps up pretty fast, so I'll just have to keep practicing shifting a little bit early in 1st-3rd gear.

4th gear and above really shines on the RCF, as you can see with my other videos versus other high powered cars.

I also have a video chasing a modded E60 V10 M5 at 100+ MPH, but I'm saving that for a rainy day...lol.
