Default Drag Radials

Hello All,

I'm going to replace the OEM Michelin PSS very soon and would like to get some input regarding rear tires and width. I will be mounting on the OEM wheel, so the question is how wide should I go on rear tires? I was thinking 305, is that too wide? I'm deciding on NT05 or NT05r, but will probably go with NT05 as I've read many reviews about the NT05r being a bit dangerous in the rain.

Is anyone here running DR's? which brands? Width? Thanks in advance.

The goal is to increase grip on the street as well as on the track, I'm sure the car is capable of low 12's...we shall see soon enough.

Other than somebody like pupo, who has Nitrous i wouldn't think you would have that much trouble with traction? It's not like the RCF has a lot of Torque. I would imagine headers & exhaust would help a lil' bit, but even on the cars i've seen on here that have them doesn't seem to have any trouble with traction.

I haven't seen anyone besides RCF500 take their cars to the track, which is where my F is having trouble hooking up. On the street, traction is non-existent since day one, now with catback exhaust 2nd gear breaks loose quite a bit. The OEM PSS tires are not up to the task thats for sure.

My wheels were 20x11 so I had a bit more traction than you because of the extra 1 inch width. I think my best 60 ft time was 1.9835 with brake torquing at 2000 RPM. Now with the PPE headers my traction is pretty much non existent with the tires I have right now..lol. Our cars are not meant to be on the strip, it's meant to be driven around on a track, which is a hell of more fun than on the strip, but the NT05 looks pretty good for the strip.

go with Mickey Thompson ET Street SS or Nitto NT05R
(NT05 are good tires, but no where in the same league as the compound on the R tire even though the design looks almost identical)

I Love the look of those tires, will those fit on the stock RCF wheels? I Don't drive mine in the rain anyway so that wouldn't be an issue!

On street driving, how long does it take for those DR to get warmed up for max traction?

If no rubbing, definitely going with 305/35 instead of 305/30 when I replace the super sports. The 35 series is $53 cheap than the 30 series too on tirerack
