Default help an old disabled guy..

hey guys:

I need to figure out a way to mount a door pull strap in my RCF:

this is what I am looking at:

and I need to attach it to a bolt so I can pull the door closed.

the problem I have is that because of some injuries I have from a motorcycle accident I have a difficult time reaching the door pull after getting into the car.

while I can kind of close the door part way after getting in, then let it fall closed, 7:10 times it smacks my leg or head in the process.

Check beneath the felt in the door grab. There should be a screw for you to bolt on the strap. If the screw head is too small for the strap's hole, add a washer. Make the strap hang over the door grab to give you those extra inches you may just need.

Not for nothing but I wouldn't mind putting one in my car as well. Tired of the wear on my panel.

the area turns out to be too small for that buckle above..

even if I grind it down and make it fit I am concerned about long term rubbing on the door panel fabric.

Another spot... There should also be a screw behind the door handle, behind the plastic cover you pry out.

Pic of the NX below, RC should be similar.

This is the idea I am considering there are several companies that make panels to replace the factory door pull and replace it will a strap, basically it makes the door release a dual function release and pull to close.

I've found them for Porsche and MBZ, nothing for Toyota/Lexus so far:
