@RYLITT: agree with dbcooper13. No drone

For this causing issues on a lease, there is some risk but it's low and financial impact is very low IMO. In addition, if you plan on trading it in for a new Lexus, do it a few weeks prior to the end and they will treat the car as an "owned" trade-in without going through the more rigorous inspection of a lease return. I own my RC F but plan on doing a trade-in of my lightly modded IS with a new Lexus model in the future. I've done similar early lease returns (and new lease) with past Lexus models without issue.

Honestly they won't put it up on the lift to inspect in most cases

Bumping this thread.

Thinking about this mod and just wanted to hear some more opinions from the folks who've done this.

I wanna do this.

Someone has to make a cheaper bolt-on of this resonator delete.

I can Promise you a Resonator Delete is A LOT Cheaper than a whole Exhaust System! I'm still not sure why you're comparing the two? Resonator Delete costs like a $100 dollars.

I was not comparing the 2. Cutting out the resonator is the cheapest way to go and I agree.
My point is... someone can build a bolt on pipes instead of cutting your OEM so people who are leasing can easily swap them back.

When I got my custom Magnaflow exhaust built for my IS, they did just that. Muffler shop created the custom axle back as a bolt-on. For the resonator it's easily as do-able by welding on the bolt-on ends to the remaining RC F exhaust, the original cut out resonators, and the new pipes that will be added. Might be another 100-200$ and a viably cheap option.

I did this mod a few days ago and I am 100% satisfied. Absolutely no drone and sounds much better outside the car. Not too loud yet loud enough that it's noticeable. Perfect in my opinion.

Nice! Enjoy it. I barely turn up the ML sound system anymore. It's how it should have been stock IMO especially after hearing the LC's exhaust which sounds 99% identical to the RC F with the res-delete!

So the new LC 500 does not have the resonator as stock?

What's the purpose of the resonator in our RC-F anyway?

^^^Vast majority of street cars I have come across have resonators. They work in conjunction with the mufflers to primarily reduce noise. The bigger, the more sound insulation, the more sound suppression. Check an RX or NX's and they are huge. LC's not sure.
