Default Rcf racing brake 2-piece rotor and performance pad upgrade

Hey guy, Robert here. So I had the opportunity to work with Racing Brake out here is Orange County, California. The company specializes in brake components and upgrades for high performance vehicles. You can google search RacingBrake or search the forums for their awesome set ups on other cars. Warren (Owner) and Alex (Shop Manager) over there really know their stuff and the technical details to perfect the brakes on the RCF. The facility is incredible and they have some really fancy stuff. I recommend anyone in the area to check the facility out and you will see why their products are top notch. So on to the details of what was upgraded…

FRONT: 2-Piece Rotors with their Upgraded Performance Pad
Stock front rotor weight: 31.84lbs (Used). Im assuming brand new it’s about 32lbs.
RB 2-Piece Front Rotor Weight: 22.40lbs (New)
So just a tick under 10lbs weight savings per corner front.

REAR: 2-Piece Rotors with their Upgraded Performance Pad.
Stock rear rotor weight: 22.76lbs (Used). Im assuming brand new it’s about 23lbs.
RB 2-Piece Rear Rotor Weight: 18.56lbs (New)
So just a little over 4lbs weight savings per corner rear.

28lbs Rotational weight reduction.

Driving feel is significantly improved, both braking power and ease of acceleration. Steering feel is better also.

Braking feel is night and day. I thought the car stopped well before. WOW. The new pads stick to the rotors hard and it stops on a dime. My OEM brakes made a ton of noise and dust like everyone else on here. Now, ZERO sound from the brakes at anytime and ZERO dust or so minimal you wouldn’t even be able to tell.

The rotors maintain the same size at OEM so it is a direct fit with the stock caliper. No modification needed. Not only do the 2-Piece rotors perform well but they look amazing. Anybody unfamiliar with the benefits just google search it. Rotors will dissipate heat better and last alot longer. These can be purchased directly though RacingBrake or probably even FIGS Engineering. I don’t have part numbers or anything but RacingBrake will know exactly what to get you if you contact them. The price point is pretty amazing for the quality and what you get. Around $2-2.5k for everything (Depending on your tax rate, pad or no pad). Here are some pictures. In person they look even better!!!!

Looks great and the weight savings are awesome. Seems to be about ~400 overpriced but most likely due to not that my RC-Fs.

Thanks for the post up Robert and for working with RB on this. We should have everything formalized over the holiday and ready for general release first of the year. We will offer intro and discount package pricing for different applications including track specific compounds in addition to the ET500 street compound you are testing. As many will state in the IS-F crowd, these 2-P rotors are a large step up in performance via both braking and handling. Typically the OE rotor material is very soft and they rely on aggressive interaction between the pad and rotor to get performance. This means more dust, more rotor wear and in low use scenarios high squeal. RB uses the best iron alloy formula we have found which is both extremely durable and allows the use of different friction compounds that provide lower dust and better pedal modulation. Being a heavier car the RC-F will likely go through brakes faster than anything else. The harder iron alloy coupled with the added thermal capacity should allow a very long life when driven on the street and perhaps outlast your ownership of the vehicle where as we found on the IS-F rotors and pads needed changing every 20K miles or so depending on use.
Please contact with any inquiries or specific questions. For ultimate weight savings we can also offer our CCM package but we realize that might be overkill for the majority of the market.

Mike

RB ET500 brake pad is now available.

ET500 is an excellent compound for performance street and spirited driving - No squeak, low dust and easy to modulate.

Did you get your stock calipers re-sprayed/powder coated or are these aftermarket BBK calipers?

UPDATE: So this is my 3 month review of having the RB Brake upgrade. Brakes are extremely solid and still like new. Car stops extremely well and im able to drive hard for long periods without brake fading. This upgrade is wonderful and the craftmanship, quality, and life span of this kit will outlast the vehicle. Completely worth the small investment. Not only does it cut a good amount of weight, it looks amazing and performs better than it already was performing stock.

Stopping G force with the brake upgrade.

Nice! Also, how do you like the stance wheels? These are the exact ones I've been looking at. Are they holding up?!

Great to hear Robert. The longevity is something we stress, because many times people ask how long they will last and how much are replacement rings. I usually mention that chances are they would never need to replace the rings if only street driving.
Great display on the g-meter
