Default 2016 Premium Exhaust Tips

Anyone know where I can get the 2016 RCF Premium exhaust tips?

They should fit the 2015 exhausts right?

There're some parts dealers that discount parts, and shipping is usually less than tax, unless a very small item, like a panel clip or something. Forgot who they are from my last Lexus, but a quick 'google' search should throw a few.

What I'm curious about is how easy is to remove the existing tips without removing the mufflers. I wouldn't mind destroying them with visegrips. But curious if you could exert enough force by pulling to overcome the tabs hooking up on the pipes. I wouldn't try hammering them out with the mufflers in place. One has to keep in mind those tabs are at an angle where they bite the metal pipes when you try to pull them out, so it might be better to somehow destroy those tabs instead of using brute force. The guinea pig will have to find out which way works best.

You're over analyzing the removal process... Again...

Seriously

You said to hammer them out. And I'm NOT going to do that with the exhaust in place. If you don't have anything positive to contribute, just stay out man. Seriously. .

Was looking for a thread for you where a forum member touring Europe had them on a white RC-F (bought from Japan, since they had them for 2015), but couldn't find it; sorry. Lexus decided to put crappy ones here. But fixed that for 2016. Found this google image for you:

https://www.google.com/search?q=2016...PPu_LYOoA_M%3A

And these are the 2015, for comparison:

https://www.google.com/search?q=2016...BZVp6NA2pJM%3A

The seams are especially glaring on a car like this. Similar, but the 2016 much better looking IMO. Just have to see how much they cost. Hope this helps.

^^ In that very thread last month I said:

All you need to do is lightly tap them from the back side and they'll slide right off.

If you're strong enough, you can do it with you're own bare hands..
I've done plenty this way..!!

Were you expecting to hammer the crap out of them in every direction just to get them off??

FWIW, if you don't think my posts are positive or contributing, don't respond to them.

I have helped thousands here and will continue to do so.

Have a nice day

By your own admission, you've never done that with the mufflers in place, so it's just speculation. Have the car on the air right now, and there's absolutely no space to hit the upper tips with a mallet. And even with a hammer, there's less than an inch of travel, and you'd scratch the crap out of everything there. And the lower ones can only be hit at a severe angle, and from the bottom only. So your input doesn't help anybody who wants to do this with the mufflers in place. I could speculate too. Had enough of you, and since you don't even own an RC-F, down where you belong: my ignore list.

When somebody removes the tips with the mufflers in place, please post your method. And if any tip (or other) damage occurred. Thank you folks.

So a light bulb came on for me here... Mr Z, can I tap off the tips from my Joe Z exhaust and swap them out for the OEMs or some other tips? Not a knock on the Joe Z tips necessarily, just look for options. And if I can tap the tips off then it would be easier to hit the cans with some flat black.

No, those 4" Dual Walled SS Tips are 100% TIG Welded on..

But yes you can easily hit the face of the mufflers with some flat black high heat bbq paint..
It will look like the OEM mufflers blackened areas.

For this I recommend doing it with the Axle sections removed from the car.. And Tape up everything else you don't want overspray on
